We, as a group of 2, went for the January bottomless Tapas last night (Thursday) and travelled 40 minutes to do so, looking forward to try it as friends had been to another location and said it was exceptional.
The 2 ladies working were absolutely lovely, but evidently run off their feet, being the only staff on the floor taking orders and serving the food. It started off well, we had our drinks and the first 3 dishes. We then ordered our next 3 dishes, but waited around 10-15 minutes for these to be brought out. Once these were finished, we were not seen to again for another half an hour.
We then advised the server that we would like to pay the bill and leave as it was coming up to the end of the 90 minutes and around 50 minutes of that was waiting to be served. Both ladies that were working were very apologetic and understanding of our frustration and did clear the bill for us even though we were happy to pay in full and cut our evening short, so I cannot praise and thank them enough for that. They both went out of their way to see us out of the restaurant, and again, apologised profusely.
In no way do we blame the staff that were working that evening, but the franchise and management team as a collective should accommodate and organise a lot better in the future when they have specific offers / events running that tables are being booked for. It was understaffed and that was the main issue here.
The food I must say, was outstanding; being a tapas lover myself, I was very impressed. We will be back for sure, but for a set meal and not for any of the bottomless options.
Thank you again to the ladies working, we do appreciate the kindness that you showed us throughout the evening. You are an asset...
Read moreDisgusted: I couldn't believe it. We we're a party of 8, and as we arrived, they brought 8 wine glasses, where two of them had two very clear and obvious lipstick marks. I wish I'd photographed it for this review, but I was so shocked I just immediately told them, as they were still putting the glasses on the table. I said "Why are you serving us dirty glasses. That hasn't even been attempted to be cleaned!". We cant even say that because it's new years eve, they're busy, because its a booking. They weren't even at capacity, so there's just no excuse... Then our waitress had a stinking attitude with us because I'd complained. I wasn't rude or abusive, I was just... assertive about the fact that we'd just arrived, and immediately served with dirty glasses. I couldn't possibly imagine a universe where you'd do that. I noticed the glasses as soon as they hit the table, so how can both our waiters, and the kitchen staff miss that?? Then after the wine glasses, we were given the tumbler glasses, which were also dirty. I just dont get it. Didn't bother to complain, I just used my shirt to clean it, I didn't want my food contaminated. Credit where credit is due: The woman's attitude improved towards the main meal, where she'd gone out of here way to get me a spoon I didn't ask for. She must have overheard me asking a mate if there was a spoon in the cutlery box. So that was fair. It was expensive dining to be fair. 42 per person was high. Quality of food was not that good. I had these beef pocket things, and they were very greasy. The main was a curry that resembled a Korma, but was too sweet, and the chicken chunks were dry in the middle, not very nice. The fries however were lovely, but I had to pay...
Read moreThe only way to describe the food adequately is white people mexican food/taco night, except id probably get better white people tacos just making them myself at home. The nachos were decent but its hard to mess up tortilla crisps, cheese, salsa and guac, tho the salsa definitely tasted like the jarred doritos kind, the empanadas were good, id have them again, Then I got the “taste of mexico” and it tasted about as close to mexican food as the distance from here to there implies, the rice was literally plain rice with unevenly chopped green onions thrown on top, the chicken and pepper was real bad, not entirely sure what flavour they were going for but it tasted like raw chicken smells whilst also being dry and over cooked luckily there was only 3 pieces of chicken in the bowl so didnt have to suffer that much, the chili was decent i ate that happily, the small quesadillas that came with it had about 5 grated pieces of cheese and a half teaspoon of meat in each triangle that was then hardened into a crunchy cold mainly tortilla shape to eat, the guac ok kinda tasteless, the salsa again tasted like doritos jarred stuff not fresh, and there was a bad tasting cold veg pile, the thinly sliced raw cabbage was the only part of that i ate. All in all wouldn’t go again or recommend it, the cocktails were ok but not worth the steep price, i enjoyed the blue lagoon it had strawberry poppin boba in which was fun, the foods price was way too much for what it was, even if it wasnt terrible. Just disappointing all round. The atmosphere was ok quiet but not dead, the music was decent and the service was decent, cant complain about them, friendly...
