Restaurant 1884 — Restaurant in Wales

Went here during the week and the two of us had the delicious lamb!

I can highly recommend this fantastic dish. The sauce was a piece of heaven and the meat very tasty and tender.

Vegetables tasted fresh as well and the mash was great too, maybe a bit of nutmeg would have made it even better.

Service was very attentive and suggested a good glass of wine fitting for the dish.

The only thing that was lacking, was ambience. It basically looks like a few tables in a hallway of a hospital. The music was good at first but then kind of upbeat and not very dinner like. The whole interior design (colours of the walls, fake flowers, tiny candles) does not really fit the amazing food you get served there.

Anyways, I would totally come again and enjoyed...

Stayed here overnight at the Management Centre in August 2024. Breakfast was included in the room rate. Food locally sourced and high quality. Next time we are in the area we want to try the 1884 Restaurant for dinner as we found other Bangor eating establishments (Cleo lounge) were lacking quality, service and later dining (til 9pm here).
