Awful experience here! Went through the drive thru to speak to a young, uninterested lad. Asked for veggie deluxe to be told 'cant do veggie stuff'. Asked what other veggie option we could have to be told 'weve got cheese dippers'. We had to settle for large fries as main evening meal 🙃. Fancied a McFlurry to be told 'cant do those'. This lad (called Owen) had no customer service skills and literally sounded like he couldn't care less about us.
We drove up to the window, sat for a while and heard a commotion instead, for one of the colleagues to shout 'S**T' at the top of their voice, which was very much audible from our car. I asked the lad at the window (Josh) why there were no veggie option to be told "I dunno'. I said McDonalds as a nationwide franchise should surely be able to supply stores with veggie options in 2020! He just went 'we're just a franchise I dunno'. I asked for some sweet chilli sauce to compliment my large evening meal of a handful of fries to be asked to pay 20p!!
We took our fries (without the 20p sauce) to find what I could only describe as the worst fries I've ever had from McDonalds!! Cold and dry like the poor things had been sitting there since before lockdown. We drove back round and spoke to Josh (Manager). I said these fries are really dry and cold could I get some fresh ones please? He went 'ugh hang on'. No 'sorry, I'll get you some fresh ones right away'. I really think all the staff at this place could really do with some customer service training.
We collected our fries to find after driving away that we were missing some fries from the other order, went back through the drive thru for a 3rd time, everyone seemed to disappear like they'd had enough of us by this point. A lovely colleague called Sophie came to the window and asked very politely if everything was okay. We explained the situation and she apologised and said she'd bring us some fresh fries straight away. She came back and also gave us extra for the inconvenience! Maybe the rest of the team should be trained by Sophie in how to deliver...
Read moreThis is a 24 hour m donalds. The fries can taste soggy and bad between 1am and 5am. I think they just leave them for hours in the rack. It's the same with the chicken selects in the wraps. They can be cold or like warm and very dry. Clearly there is no viable rotation happening during those hours. During the day it's different and the food is great. So just exercise caution when ordering in the early hours. One thing to also mention is their hot chocolate tastes a little soily and not very sweet. It's quite strange. The best McDonald's hot chocolate can be found at the one in reedswood just down the road. Last but not least, about a year and a half ago I ordered a meal with a coke, and a metal piece of the drinks machine was in my drink. It looked like it had sheared off the dispenser. I obviously complained and they offered a free meal. If you order a salad or a mcplant from here, sometimes they will miss out ingredients or swap them for alternatives. Yes I still buy food from here as there is not much else open close to town during these hours. I am not the complaining type, I'm really not. But truth must be told. Let me get one thing straight, the service is great. Always is. It's just the food here let's it down somewhat. If you do visit here DO NOT PARK ON THE MCDONALDS CAR PARK!! You don't get much time, and you will get a ticket. McDonald's do not own it, it's privately owned. I have been stung twice in 2 days for staying over a couple minutes. They have ANPR when you drive in. You are warned. If you need somewhere to park, go drive up to the car park next to the old Chicago rock cafe, it's free...
Read moreFirst of all, Callum thinks a bit highly of himself doesn't he?? You're not ENTITLED to a "hot drink at night" dude! As for parking fines, the car park has several signs which say you can park for 20 minutes and if you go inside there's a tablet you can enter your car reg on for an hour's free parking! Anyway, note that I'm a Maccies employee (not a crew member) so I get a heavy discount on my meals. That said, after my first ever visit to this store, I won't return. Even with my employee discount I have to pay extra for large drinks. I ordered my breakfast meal via the app, collected at the drive thru, parked up, opened my large hot drink to see it was clearly not a large. Went inside to have it exchanged, barely a word from the manager who served me and no mandatory apology for the error, and I saw her attempt my new drink twice before what I thought was getting it right. Back at the car, there was far too much spray cream on top so the toffee sauce had stuck to the lid and the cream was hanging off it. After stirring it in (my preference...) the drink was still not the required 400ml, I guess hidden with the extra spray cream not expecting me to stir it in! Clearly their machine is faulty as it's supposed to pour the exact amount. I didn't pay as much as regular customers but I do still expect to get what I paid for. Hash browns were too greasy and my McMuffin looked like a chimp had put it together. And it wasn't even busy. But then if managers can't be bothered to provide a good service, you can't expect the...
