Your walsall store is absolutely shambolic. There’s 3+ staff on shift and only 4 tables seated (no delivery orders) and we were waiting for 1 waffle and 1 cookie dough and 2 shakes. Our 2 milkshakes came over and plonked on the table, the waitress not telling us which is which and walked off after about 20 mins. At the 30 min mark the cookie dough finally came out, again plonked on the table, not a word from the waitress again, not even a smile or acknowledgement. At the 37 min mark the waffle finally arrives with a half hearted “sorry about the wait”
I’ve worked in dessert shops, two of them in fact. It takes 3.5 mins tops to make a waffle and 2 mins to make a cookie dough, with approximately 1 min per dish to plate and decorate (if you’re slow). It takes about 3-5 mins for a milkshake to be made, depending on if the ice cream is rock hard or not. With 3 staff this could be done simultaneously, taking no more than 5 mins total to me made, then a couple of mins to come to table when someone is free. At a push, 10 mins for everything to come out. Even if they were done one after another it would take 17.5 mins to make and plate, then a few mins to come to table.
My partner felt awful eating his cookie dough while i had nothing. I wouldn’t have been allowed to get away from it when I was working. Why is service like this allowed? Not a single member of staff are working hard or look like they want to be here. Trust me I get it, but it’s not the customers fault. I trust that i’m not the only customer feeling this way.
EDIT TO ADD - Fudge topping was definitely stale, hard as eating a bullet (I know full well they’re not meant to be like that) and the toilets are blocked off… Fantastic really. Really the icing on the cake...
Read moreCame here today, excited to satisfy my sweet tooth (it's been strong recently). The food (that was actually available) I eventually got was quite nice but unfortunately it was the service that ruined it. Firstly, we went in and had to seat ourselves and get our own menus (not a big deal but some more staff interaction would be nice) I went in with 5 other people, all of whom ordered hot food (very few drinks were in stock) it was pretty quiet when we went in. A waffle was served first and we assumed the rest of the orders would soon follow. We were wrong. After another 10 or so minutes another waffle and a crepe came too. It was then that i was told that my order (choc tiramisu hot pocket) wasn't available and i changed my order. We were then told that they didn't have the right sauce to make another waffle (the same waffle as served previously) and that ordered was changed too. The waffle and another crepe was then served. By the time everyone else had finished their desserts (I'd say a good 20 mins later) I finally got my order. Like i said, the food was nice and hot, and i can understand the slight delay due to my order change, but having to wait for so long whilst everybody else ate wasn't nice and in most restaurants all the dishes are served at the same time, so today's experience was particularly disappointing, especially with the lack of drinks and ingredients. My aunt (who suggested we visited) said her previous experience was excellent so perhaps today's experience is just an anomaly or it was just a bad day. None the less, it has still left a bad impression on me and i probably wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreAs a family we decided to pop in on the off chance. We had been shopping in town and decided to treat the kids to ice-cream on a really hot day. I was expecting to be politely turned away (after all we are still in the middle of covid-19) but I wasn't expecting the ignorance I faced when we wenttwent the door. The sign clearly stated to wait to be seated and due to the current situation I wasn't going to flount the rules. We waited literally in the door way and prayed no-one wanted to leave as there was no way we could adere to the 2 meter rule but there was also nowhere else to go. There were about 4 people behind the counter and not one person looked up even though there was no way they didn't know we were there. There were 2 people waiting tables and both looked in our direction and took no notice of us. We waited a significant amount of time until we decided to leave. 2 people followed us out of the restaurant and told us that they had experienced a similar welcome and ended up having to asked for their order to be boxed as they had taken so long to serve them they had run out of their 1 hour parking. The restaurant was not overly busy and in my opinion well staffed so there was no excuse for the lack of customer service. I'm in no rush to spend my money in this establishment in the future. Very disappointing considering restaurants need all the money they can get...
