Went on the 20th December early evening. It was busy with a very large works party in right in the centre of the main bar area and the noise was horrendous however it's Christmas so accepted that happens. All the tables were filthy with plates stacked high with staff walking past them without clearing them. They seemed short staffed with long queues of the works party buying drinks so we decided to use the ap to order which we have used before in there. Ordered cheesy chips and a burger with drinks. Somehow a previous breakfast order was added to the order but only the burger topping and wine order went through with a partial breakfast order which wasn't what showed on our ap. 20 mins after ordering a young male member of staff came over and was incredibly rude laughing at us saying breakfasts weren't available in the evening. To be fair anyone seeing an order for a child's breakfast a coffee wine and just burger topping is likely to know that there had been a problem with the ap ordering and 20 mins to tell us. He was so rude and the place was so dire that night we decided to cancel the order but as had paid by ap via PayPal and didn't have that card to hand were told we couldn't have a refund. My husband asked to see the duty manager but instead a young female team leader was sent out who was sobbing. My husband felt so awkward as you would faced with this but after explanation he was told the refund was sorted but if by any chance it didn't show back up in his PayPal to come back!! The refund has not happened. My husband has followed the contact seller via PayPal and Wetherspoons have ignored this so now it is a dispute via PayPal. Totally disgusting not only how we were treated but how a member of staff can be put in front of the public in the state that young lady was. We used to come in quite regularly for breakfast and it was very hit and miss on occasion cold breakfasts having to be sent back but this is too much. We will now be taking...
Read moreThe worst Wetherspoon we’ve ever been to. The place was very quiet so we expected to have quick and easy service like every other Wetherspoon but it was far from that. The place itself was quite dirty, many tables uncleared and gross looking, place felt quite dingy. When we placed the order my app said food wait times were 18mins however it took 40 for our food to arrive and when we tracked down a member of staff down to ask how long our food would be all she said was “did you order on the app? food wait is up to 40 minutes.” But how she spoke came across quite abrupt. Now I’ve understand if the restaurant was busy however it was busy at all. Our drinks also took a while to arrive, at least 15 minutes, we did order a Jaipur but we were told they had sold out so we replaced that with a lemonade but I did not receive any money back for the Jaipur they hadn’t got. I ordered a pimms which usually comes with fruits in however when it arrived there was none in there so it didn’t quite feel the same. The glasses our drinks arrived in were dirty with sticky remnants of other drinks around the tops however the staff walked around visibly with face on and quite grumpy which was off putting so we felt it wasn’t worth bringing these issues to their attention. When the food arrived it was edible to say the least but definitely not worth the 40 minute wait, my grandad’s fish was quite disappointing was very small, basically no fish all batter. It’s a shame as we always enjoy Wetherspoon and the food and staff are usually very good and friendly however not here so I would avoid here at all costs and go somewhere worth your...
Read moreBeing a big fan of Wetherspoons in general I was pleasantly surprised by this pub. It is very new and modern.. such a change to some of the dated ones we come across all over the country.
One downfall however is lack of free parking.. there is a car park both sides of the pub (try the one to the left as its half the price).
The new Wetherspoons app makes ordering so much easier now.. finding a comfy seat and chilling out is priority for me. Rather than queueing at the bar for ages...
We ate here 4 days out of 7 whilst visiting the area.. we love the cheap food and drink (even if it is not quite as cheap as it was a year ago). We sampled a lot of the menu.. favouring the burgers and curry night. A family of four can easily eat a 2 course meal with drinks for around £35.
The service was fast, staff were really friendly and the food was great. The standard is the same as most Wetherspoons. The bathroom facilities were very clean too...
On curry night (a Thursday) our last visit there was quite a lot of food on the floor.. it really needed a mid afternoon vacuum through. But I can't imagine they have the staff to be doing this..
I really like the outside area.. but I think more of it could be non smoking.
Overall I highly recommend this pub for good cheap pub grub, cheap drink and friendly service. We will be back again if we are...
