Coupland's in Gainsborough is a little unsung hero in the Market Place. You get a warm welcome from the manager and her staff every time you go. The salads and sandwiches are fresh and excellent value for money. The precision to detail of how the cakes and pastries are displayed, just shows the care and attention they put to their shop, both in the window and inside. The Mothers Day cupcakes were all in a colourful display, so appealing and appetising. Everything is fresh and very tasty. The shop is clean, welcoming and the glass cabinets gleam! I pre ordered a ham and egg salad to collect on my way to work at 8am the next day, nothing was too much trouble, was all ready for collection. Just discovered Cooplands when I wanted a cake made for my daughter’s ‘gender reveal’. Went into the shop and ordered it exactly as I wanted. The cake is beautiful and at an amazing price - a fraction of other bakers’ prices online - plus they give Blue Light discount. I know where I’m going the next time I need a celebration cake. Trouble is I’ve now discovered their very good sausage rolls and Danish pastries- and I’m hooked! Hang the calories! Well...

Very much like Greg's, serving COLD pies. Bought a pie and a pastie, got back to my truck and found the mince and onion pie was very cold in the middle. Shop looked clean, staff were busy but quick. When a working man walks into a shop, in works uniform and high visibility clothing, and it's about lunchtime, does he want a cold pie to take home and cook?
