Slinky's Cafe Bar — Restaurant in Wirral

It's rare for me to leave a poor review but I feel I have to here. When we ordered drinks and food, the payment terminal was one of those that asked for a tip up front. This was optional but we left 10%, then spent the next 40 minutes regretting it while we waited for food (just a bagel and a soup). The drinks were prompt but were long finished by the time the food came. The place was not busy at all and I think the kitchen person was late, but there was no mention of this when we ordered. Lesson learned - never pay for service in advance. To be fair, the bagel was excellent when it did...

Only good thing I can say about this place was the friendliness of (most of) the staff. Most things on the menu items had run out and the baked goods were dry and stale. The toilet seat was coming off the bowl in one bathroom and the disabled toilet was filled with so much stuff that it was unusable. The servers working there were great but there was a man (presumably the boss) speaking very rudely to them and raising his voice while there were customers around. We have visited your bar a few times and really enjoyed the vibe. However last night (Sunday) we visited with friends for a pre dinner drink. My friend is in a wheel chair and when tried to use the disabled toilet we had to empty a hoover and high chair from it before he could access the toilet. Then one of the bar staff put the items back in. So again we had to remove them so he could use the toilet.
