I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed with my meal on 14th April 2018. I was really looking forward to a meal out with my partner and i did not enjoy my dining experience. I ordered the salmon from the menu as I love all types of fish and I was told it was delicious and freshly cooked to order. When my meal arrived it looked lovely and I was so looking forward to eating it. After a few tastes of the salmon I knew that it was on the turn, I suspect left out of the fridge too long. I asked my partner to try it and he agreed. Normally being a mild mannered kind of person I wouldn't make a fuss but I was afraid of food poisoning plus the meal was expensive £15 and I don't like being ripped off, I went over to speak to the owner and was disappointed by her response. She went out to the kitchen to speak to the chef and then came out to tell me that having investigated the matter decided there was nothing wrong with the fish it tasted different because it was in a sauce. This was completely the wrong response: firstly; the fish wasn't cooked in any sauce and secondly it made me out to be a liar. I felt humiliated and really just wanted to leave. All I had eaten was the rice and I was asked if i wanted anything else to eat wish I thought was being offered on a complimentary basis. How wrong I was!!!! when my partner paid the bill I realise we had been charged for that extra meal too and I was annoyed as I felt we had been ripped off!!!!! There was no apology just the accusation that i made the whole thing up or that I've got weird taste buds. The owner then had the nerve to hope we had "a lovely walk" as we went out the door. I was cross with myself for not asking for an adjustment to the bill so i decided I would just write a review instead. This is done without malicious intent I just think they need to work on their customer service technique and acknowledge when someone complains that there just might be a problem. I'm sorry to say I wont...
Read moreI have attended the olive tree for many years since it first opened. I have been a customer on my own, with family and with large groups of friends when we attend the floral regularly. They have always served outstanding food and always very welcoming, hence why they have had my business all this time. Tonight, I came in with my family only to be told, once I had sat down with my 3 year old son, that the children’s menu stopped at 5.30pm. It was 6pm. To expect me to pay full price for a three year old only tells me once thing, children are not welcome. This was very disappointing, particularly when I have always been a loyal customer. This is a new rule they have brought in. Also, upon reading the owners response to some of the negative comments, I really don’t think she will care, which is very short sighted, unfortunately. With the new developments on Victoria Rd and new competition for customers I feel they are making a huge mistake. We went over the road the the new Moroccan restaurant which was beautiful food. I highly...
