Was refused sparkling water by a woman behind the bar and accused of pouring my own alcohol in it! I wanted a sparkling water as I felt drunk and wanted to pace myself but got a barrel of abuse on asking. Terrible behaviour… imagine an alcoholic going out and getting refused a soft drink! Read moreI used to be regular here in the 1970's when I lived in New Brighton. George Crocford was the landlord and later John & June Gilmore. It was always the best pub in New Brighton. Enjoyed Sunday afternoon there yesterday. Two real ales on, Timothy Taylors Landlord and Wainwright's Amber. Both came out of the pump nice and bright and clear.
