Appalling! Took my granddaughter to the light cinema this afternoon to see Cinderella. Unfortunately we had to endure two toddlers,I would say both under two, running laps of the cinema, singing, shouting and generally being children. Their mother took no control of them at all, inevitably some of the audience lost patience and began shouting for them to be quiet. A member of staff did come in towards the end of the screening, but did nothing. the final scene arrived, at which point the mother realised she hadn't seen her children for about ten minutes and proceeded to run up and down the stairs shouting where are my children. at the end of the film an argument started between irate customers and the mother, so I took my granddaughter out and approached a member of staff, who said , yes he had heard there was some trouble, sorry about that, completely disinterested. I then spoke to the manager and asked if they had a policy on age, she couldn't answer but said they couldn't tell people how to look after their children! she did say, After, I had said I would be writing to the Head Office of The Light Cinema, that she was going to offer me some complementary tickets, I said I didn't want them thanks as I certainly wouldn't be returning for 'THE LIGHT EXPERIENCE' . my...
Read moreJust come back from seeing 'The Flying Dutchman' from Covent Garden. Much to admire, but the volume and quality of the sound The Light provides for operas from the Royal Opera House is pretty poor. So what should move often just doesn't. Tonight it was low enough for me to pick up rampaging soundtracks from a screen next door. Is opera volume kept low in order not to frighten other cinema goers? Contrast this with the excellent sound from Barcelona for last Tuesday's production of 'Norma'. However this isn't my first disappointment at Light Arts. The ROH 'Parsifal's volume was hopeless during Act 1, and then, mercifully, the transmission went down. And Britten' 'Gloriana' was presented without subtitles (I know it's in English, but you should know that sung English often doesn't come across. I'm still a supporter, but I came home tonight thinking I'd have been better off...
Read moreIt was ok, the cashier and the guy who attended to us were professional and friendly, we enjoyed our time there, the lady who had a refuse/garbage bag at Studio 2 when we finished watching Sonic 3 looked pissed and totally ignored when my kids and I greeted her, regret taking our garbage to her, should have left it on the seat like the rest. I don’t care if I’m ignored but with my kids it hits different. She’s unhappy there she must look for a job elsewhere. Everyone else was fab.
There was only one toilet, nowhere to hang a bag or coat once you are inside, huge inconvenience, looked to put my coat on top of the door, I saw something brown on it not sure what it was but felt sick, had to hold on to my bag and our coats, the toilet wasn’t clean either, couldn’t wait to get out of there,...
