We went to Beit Beirut on a Saturday night for dinner, which was our first visit. To our surprise the restaurant was completely empty and the atmosphere was non existent. We may have just been unlucky, but considering it was a Saturday night it just felt a bit dead. The decor seemed very dated, maybe that's why.
We had a lovely girl serving us who was super friendly from the moment we arrived. She was very knowledgeable about all the dishes. She also recommended a wine based on what we liked and I have to say it was a great choice. The only mark down here is we weren't asked again if we wanted a second drink and had to ask.
We ordered the larger of the two tasting menus (there was one more but required 4 people minimum). The breads, dips, cold mezze and hot mezze, we're all fantastic. Lots of flavour, the cold mezze in particular was great. Sadly when the mixed grill came it was a little disappointing, a bit small and the meat was dry. The Baclava which followed was tasty but very small, I wondered if we were served with only one portion between two.
Overall I sense we may have been unlucky as I see they have a ton of very highly rated reviews. However, between the decor/atmosphere and the couple of let downs on food, I struggle to justify giving it more...
Read moreWe had a positive experience when dining in (over a year ago) but standards seem to have slipped as we have been disappointed with the two takeaways we have ordered through Deliveroo during lockdown. The most recent order placed was for 2 mixed grills, one with garlic sauce and one without (as one of the customers has an intolerance), one fresh orange juice and one Amaza (authentic lebanese) beer which totalled £38 (excluding delivery fee, service fee and rider tip). On a positive note, the food arrived on time (though Deliveroo are partially responsible for that), the mixed grill tasted good, and we received 4 pieces of baklava at no extra cost which were also nice. However, both mixed grills arrived with garlic sauce (which also happened with the previous order), the orange juice did not taste 'fresh' (had assumed fresh meant freshly squeezed but tasted from concentrate) and a San Miguel was delivered instead of an Amaza beer. The portion size was small for the price, and £7 is steep for the drinks that were delivered. Unfortunately I don't think we will order takeaway from Beit Beirut again but may give it another chance once restaurants re-open for...
Read moreI went with my family to Beit Beirut for Mother’s Day and Eid, we ordered from Beit Tasting Menus, one vegetarian and two of the main tasting menu. We are a big family so we made the right choice with our order; we all got to try each of the dishes and felt happy to share the food with each other. The food came out in perfect timing, each dish having enough for everyone there, and tasting so delicious. The services was excellent, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, that we knew we made the right choice to come here to celebrate. The atmosphere of the place is amazing, the music is just the perfect mix with the layout and design of the place, it is so cozy to be in. We left with full bellies, and a content feeling in our heart because of the whole experience. On the way out, they handed out pink roses for mothers and it made the day feel all the more special. We definitely would recommend people try this place out and experience it for...
