O'Neill's Woking — Restaurant in Woking

So as of 12th July my opinion of the place has gone down drastically, it may be reactionary but I still feel the need to voice how unwelcome my friends and I felt as we entered. We were unsure whether they were still serving, with no bouncer on the door and a sign suggesting we wait to be seated (the sign is fair enough, needs to be there). One of my friends entered past the line just to ask if the place was still open, he was rather aggressively told to STEP BACK! After we asked again the people working behind the bar insisted they were closed, which apparently they said three times (infact this was only after one of us asked if they were still open and awaited a response). I understand if the people working behind the bar had been on a long shift, but there really isn't any excuse for poor customer service. What should of been said is "we are still open, but can you please step behind the line and we will find you a table". Instead we got "STEP BACK!" Very disappointed in the service here. Pub was practically empty around 6pm on a Sunday. We were a party of 6 and the customer service from the gentleman and pregnant lady was terrible. Ordered mojitos, the 2 for $13 cocktail deal. Was given lime juice and gin with no mint. When asked the gentleman stated they were out of mint. You would have thought they’d mention that before serving mojitos without mint? However, I said no problem and drank the first cocktail. Then asked the lady if it would be possible to swap the second drink for a different cocktail because it wasn’t a proper mojito and quite frankly.. disgusting. She stated would go and ask the kitchen. She returned with a plate of dried mint. Another person from our party ordered 2 Woo Woos and they tasted like water. Many member of our party have been to this pub before and spoke highly of it so we were excited to try. We are American so maybe that is why we were treated so poorly. This was a Monday so for atmosphere maybe I'm being harsh!

However, food wise I'd rate 0 stars if I could.

I ordered a 16oz Rump steak and got maybe 9 ounces of meat (and that is me being generous) I asked for it to be rare it came well done, and it was cold, in fact my friends gammon was overcooked, dry and cold... My fiancé's and his fiancé's mac n cheese burger was cold. The only hot element to any of our meals were the chips which seemed to come out 5 mins after our meal, and the side of onion rings I ordered that's it! The rest was eaten out of necessity, I told a member of staff and he didn't care. The barman (possibly management) didn't care, he avoided us and we only ate the food because we were seeing Ricky Gervais at the Woking theatre, had we have had time to go elsewhere and eat I'd have done so... Avoid this place at all costs.

Sad that our evening started in this way. Oh and they couldn't make a strawberry daquari to save...
