Very poor quality food. Avoid it. Went for brunch with my wife on Friday to the Wolverhampton branch. It was bitterly cold that day. The restaurant was colder because all the radiators were off. We were the only customers. We decided to brave it and waited for our straightforward order of dosa and medu vada. The vadas were good except the coconut chutney was completely salt free. I told the manager who went to the kitchen, returned and told me that it had been sorted. He didn’t think about bringing me some salt or the corrected coconut chutney. Seeing our discomfort, he kindly left us a boiled kettle of water. The dosas arrived. Mine was cold but I decided not to complain. My coconut chutney was still bland. I wondered if I had developed covid and lost my taste and smell. The manager smirked that I was still not satisfied. More concerned that there was something wrong with me, I decided to ask my wife. She said hers had too much salt. I tried it, more to reassure myself of my taste. Hers had so much salt that despite the manager looking at me I had to spit it out. The manager looked at me as though there was something wrong with me. At this point I decided that we best leave. I offered to pay for the vadas, which he was happy to accept and then he told me that I was a bad customer. At this point I gave him the benefit of my tongue and left. On reflection, my dosa has already been made and was therefore cold. When told about the lack of salt in the coconut chutney, the cook salted them, i.e. my wife’s, that with the vada and that with my dosa, except I think he put all three lots in my wife’s. And then the manager said that it was me who was...

So, I needed matka kulfi and this place sells matka kulfi. I checked on Google and this place has their opening timings written on Google as 10.00 am on Sunday, so I reached at the resturant at 11 15 am only to b told that they can't give me matka kulfi because it's only opened for breakfast? But, matka kulfi isn't a breakfast item or lunch item. It's just a dessert. Also, it's not mentioned anywhere that they don't accept cards. So, because I didn't have cash, I asked if I can order online and pay online and then can I get the stuff, she said yes ok. Then when I ordered through just eat and paid extra for the kulfi, because price at store is £3.75 & online it's £4.85!! On top of that I had to pay £0.50 as service charge. Then, lady staff told me that earliest collection will b at 12.15! It's a dessert!! She just had to open the freezer take the stuff out put it in a bag and give it to me.. I have paid £5 extra by now! She didn't have to make it... She didn't have to get a delivery driver to get the delivery done!!? So why the wait?? Anyways, finally after a frustrating experience and waiting for 15 odd min she gave me the kulfi. Such an irritating experience. Sorry to say, this has put me off this place,...

I recently dined at your restaurant and wanted to share my feedback. While the food was enjoyable, I had a disappointing experience with the service provided by one of the staff members. I intended to avail of a takeaway deal but was charged a higher price. When I inquired, the explanation given was not satisfactory. I was told that since my food had already been packed, no amendments could be made—even though I had not yet paid my bill. A certain level of flexibility in accommodating customer needs would have been appreciated.

Additionally, the takeaway packaging provided was of poor quality, as the cover tore before I could even take it home. I also requested a customised menu item (a single vada), but my request was declined without much consideration.

I understand that some staff members may be working part-time while balancing university commitments, and I appreciate their efforts. However, a stronger focus on customer service, attentiveness, and adaptability would enhance the overall dining experience.

I hope my feedback helps in improving future service, and I look forward to a better...

Chennai Dosa – Wolverhampton Branch: A Disappointing Experience I’ve visited Chennai Dosa on several occasions over the years, but sadly, the standards at the Wolverhampton branch have slipped drastically. During my most recent visit, I was shocked to find a cockroach on my table. I immediately informed the staff, but their response was far from reassuring. Instead of taking prompt and professional action, they did very little to address the situation or make me feel comfortable enough to stay. I was told my cup would be replaced, but this only happened after I asked four separate times. As someone who reviews food establishments, I chose not to reveal this upfront to observe how a regular customer would be treated. Unfortunately, the experience made it clear that customer care and hygiene are not priorities here. Avoid this place. The hygiene, customer service, and basic conveniences (card machine) are all lacking. I’ve will be sending evidence of the cockroach incident to their head office and hope they take this more seriously than the local staff did. I won’t be returning.

I've always had a bad experience with the Chennai Dosa chain. Especially with the Smethwick branch. So, I had very low expectations when I visited this place. But to my very sweet surprise, the food was the closest to what authentic south Indian food I've had in a while. We went for an oothappam combo for meat thali. The pappad got a bit soaked in moisture as it was over the oothappam. But other than that, the way the meat was cooked, the taste of rasam, curry, Dal and everything else was just perfect. The only reason I haven't given 5 is because they didn't have an option for different rice types. Sona masoori or long grain in the place of basmati would give a much better and authentic experience. The beeda felt a bit stale. It might be because we had it a bit late after we got it from here. But apart from these two minor points, the whole experience was just brilliant. Please note that this place is cash only and the nearest card machine is either in Sainsbury's or 400m away in Londis (which is currently out of service).

We had gone a group of 15 people and we call them and confirmed reservation, when we are there they had given the seats to someone. There is no communication with the customers or colleagues. And we had to be seat next to washing area and the kitchen. And our group seated in 3 different places. The floor was dirty and looks like cleaned so long. And the seats was also dirty ( can refer the photos ) The food was ok. Masala Dosa was good and the Chinese dishes too. Kothu porotta was below average for me. Vada was ok and the chatni was good. I won’t go again and won’t bring my friends. Or can go with take away. NOTE : It’s CASH ONLY and NHS Disc. Only weekdays.
