Come visit the new Milkberry Cafe in Wolverhampton with me! Matchas were a big 10/10 my first experience and I would deffo return for one again💗 Food was okay, slightly average and took 1 hour to arrive to the table. Food rating would be 7/10. Deffo worth a visit, a cute new addition to Wolves! #brunch #matcha #breakfast #wolverhampton #brunchtok #vlog #eatwithme

I wasn’t originally planning to write a review, but one of the staff members specifically asked us to leave feedback — so I feel it’s only right to be honest about our experience. We ordered the French toast and the salmon with cream cheese on sourdough. Our food took over 40 minutes to arrive, which would’ve been manageable if it was busy or if we were kept informed — but what made it particularly frustrating was that several tables seated after us received their food before we did, even though some had ordered the exact same items. There was no explanation, no apology, no check-in to let us know there was a delay. Just radio silence while we sat there getting hungrier and more confused. When the food did finally arrive, the presentation was fine, but that was about the only redeeming quality. The French toast (about £12) portion was shockingly small, especially for the price. I also noticed inconsistencies — people at my table who ordered the exact same dish received noticeably larger portions, which made the whole thing feel disorganised and unfair. The toast itself was dry, barely soaked in anything, and tasted more like a lightly sweetened slice of bread than an actual indulgent French toast. For what they’re charging, it just felt lazy and underwhelming. I also ordered a matcha (+£1 for oat milk), which was okay — nothing special, certainly not worth the £6 price tag. In London, sure. But Wolverhampton? It felt like they were trying to emulate a trendy café experience without actually delivering the quality to back it up. But honestly, the worst part of the visit was the attitude of one of the waitresses, which really tainted the entire experience. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day, but she was visibly irritated from the start. She slammed our plates down on the table, didn’t once make eye contact or greet us properly, and never checked in to ask if the food was okay — which, considering the 40+ minute wait, would’ve been the bare minimum. There was no warmth, no courtesy, no sense of hospitality. It just felt like we were a nuisance for being there. I don’t usually nit-pick at small things, but when you’re paying premium café prices and being actively asked for feedback, I think it’s fair to expect a basic level of service and consistency. The whole visit just felt disorganised and cold, and by the end of it, all of us were saying the same thing: it just wasn’t worth it. Also — there’s no online menu, which in 2025 is bizarre. It would’ve helped us plan ahead and avoid some of the confusion we faced when ordering. All in all, the experience was disappointing and not one I’d recommend, especially not if you’re expecting good service, value for money, or a relaxed brunch. The concept is nice, and there’s clearly potential, but right now it’s missing the mark in terms of both execution and energy. We left feeling let down, not looked after.

Since the new owners have taken over, the standards at this restaurant have noticeably dropped. The place now feels less clean and a little scruffy, with boxes lying around and even a random fridge in the middle of the floor, which doesn’t give off a professional impression. The food itself was decent in parts, but when I asked about whether the meat was halal, the staff were very hesitant and vague. They couldn’t provide a certificate or clear information about where the meat was sourced from, which felt a little cagey. This lack of transparency makes it difficult to trust their claims, and for that reason alone, I wouldn’t return. Service has also slipped. When the food was brought out, no condiments were offered, and no one came back to check if everything was okay. My iced matcha latte was lukewarm and lacked ice, although they did fix it when I mentioned it. Still, considering they seem to pride themselves on their matcha, it was disappointing. On the positive side, the sourdough with scrambled eggs and avocado was a perfect balance of flavours, and the French toast with maple syrup was lovely. Unfortunately, the masala fries fell flat, instead of a proper sauce or garnish, it was just chilli powder sprinkled on top, which was underwhelming. Overall, the place needs a lot of tweaks, cleaner presentation, better service, and most importantly, clearer information on their halal status. Until then, we won’t be going back.

My girlfriend and I came across Milkberry on Instagram and were impressed by their feed, so we decided to try their breakfast offering on a Sunday morning. As a disclaimer: we know that standards vary from person to person. Ours are probably on the higher end, so this isn’t to diminish the business itself, just our honest experience.

We arrived shortly after they opened at 10:00 and were one of the first tables in. The first thing that struck us was the attention to detail, or rather, the lack of it. The concept is great, but the execution felt a little rushed. The floor hadn’t been vacuumed before opening, there were visible holes in the wall where fixtures had been removed but not patched, and a TV mounted portrait-style (like a phone screen) was noticeably not level. Boxes and cleaning equipment were piled at the back, which took away from the intended vibe.

The tables, although dark-stained to match the aesthetic, felt a little cheap and didn’t quite tie in with the overall design. That said, all of these are surface-level issues that could be fixed in an afternoon with a bit of care.

The staff were genuinely lovely, friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciated.

We had two vegetarian breakfasts. The food was plated nicely and clearly designed to look good, but the flavour didn’t quite match the visuals. Our eggs were overcooked and the overall taste was just okay. Not bad, but not memorable either.

This place clearly has potential. The social media is excellent and will no doubt draw in first-time customers. The challenge will be getting people to return, and that’s all about the in-person experience.

It’s also great to see something fresh and new in the community. We genuinely wish them the best and hope they continue to...

We were very exited to try this new cafe as we had seen it online and it looked amazing however we all left quite disappointed with our experience at the café. Off the bat the waitress that served us seemed very rude and dismissive of us. Every time she interacted with our table she seemed to be quite annoyed with us and all we had done was ask for more time to think about what we were going to order. When we had decided what we were going to order she seemed rather impatient with us and wanted to get away as soon as possible. It brought the vibe of the cafe down quite a bit as we all felt as though we were doing something wrong just by sitting there. Secondly, the food took over 50 mins to arrive and there was no apology or even an update as to what was going on, which would be the bare minimum that you expect when there is a delay. Especially when other tables who ordered the exact same and were seated after us got served before us. However the food that we received was definitely not worth the £12 advertised on the menu as it came rather cold and small in portion size. And like I said there was no apology for the long wait for the food which would've helped a little. We ordered the French toast with maple syrup and the sourdough with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Our French toast came cold and quite soggy and the sourdough was not toasted at all like it was advertised. The only positive I could give about the food was that it was presented well. Overall the vibes in here were quite off and there were boxes in the corner of the room. We were asked at the end to give a review and we felt as though we have to be honest about our experience. This is definitely not anything special and I wouldn't...
