Visited the pub as part of a group. Service from bar was good, empties were collected from table quickly. Before having chance to get more drinks was confronted by blonde woman who had a metal corona beer bucket begging for a money for someone to have a head shave. No physical cash on us so she proceeded to be rude and EXTREMELY pushy telling the whole group to order drinks straight away as there was only 3 of the group that had drinks on the table left. She continuously advised it was expensive to run the pub for lights and staff and stood over the table attempting to intimidate the instantly get a drink. Absolutely horrendous interaction and she kept coming over telling people to “go to the bar now” and physically tapping people in the group. The actual younger bar staff were polite every time drinks were previously bought so it is only a reflection of a single individual. Each round was bought once EVERYONE had finished their drinks. If this is how a so called ‘bar manager’ acts and treats customers i suggest that the associated brewery that own this pub investigate that person and think about ‘replacing’ her as she has no customer service skills and collecting cash without declaring the proper use or charity it is going to seems a bit suspect. Customers should be able to drink as fast or as slow as they choose. To clarify the blonde woman on multiple occasions identified herself as the bar manager so there is no doubt despite her not wanting to tell us her name when challenged.

Cannot stress how bad an...

Great staff. One bartender just hit the dance floor when the bar wasnt as busy and it paved the way for a live dance floor that night. And he looked like he was having a blast at both the bar and the dance floor. The prices aren't that bad either. We were half way through our pub-crawl and when we got to this place, we decided to stay. There is a very easily accessible smoking area and the pub seems divided so you don't have to be in the active area. They were also showing Rugby when we were there. If anyone is interested, they have pool out daily I believe, until 8pm. Only issue I found is the lack of seating around the dance floor. So a few times we had people dumping glasses on our table and leaning on it. But it's...

Came here Saturday (7th June) for breakfast before Ladies Day at the Races because our usual breakfast venue (the crown) was full. Although there were 19 of us, the horn and trumpet were massively accomodating, bar staff were excellent. I arrived later than the rest and even though by this point the pub was rammed, my breakfast was still only 5 minutes after the rest, even with my 4 extra eggs! Cannot fault the breakfast, much better quality than the crown, eggs were brilliant as well as the rest of my Large Breakfast. Will be making this our usual breakfast venue from now on.

First visit, food menu looked good at sensible prices. Pub, staff and drinks all good. Main food was as expected and no complaints HOWEVER.. If you like value for money avoid the sides like onion rings £3 got me 3.. yes only 3 onion rings, one of which could be worn as a finger ring. Otherwise good visit, let down by onion rings. 😉👍.. ps I must add the other review where they claim the posted had hot dogs, that is the hunters chicken melt baguette. Mine was a little burnt but not to that extent.
