Maneki Ramen, situated in the heart of the city of Worcester. This modern, atmospheric and delightful gem of an establishment caught myself and my partner off-guard. Immediately off of the bat, we were served by a polite young man who situated us at a table for two; without needing a reservation (we went on a midday Friday). The waitress was friendly, polite and well dressed. The restaurant is medium sized and could possibly sit perhaps 30-40 people at a time. The lighting, music and ambience that the restaurant has built, is in my opinion, some of the nicest the city offers from a restaurant. Service was quick, yet respectful. Myself and my partner opted for the "Tonkotsu Ramen" bowl. Which came to £13 each bowl. Compared to other Japanese restaurants, this is a very reasonable price for the quality you receive. You are presented with metal chopsticks (forks are available on request as servers politely ask if you'd require any) and when receiving your ramen bowl, a wooden broth spoon accompanies the dish. The 'Char Siu' was succulent, fatty and incredibly tender. The broth rich with umami flavours from the fats, mushrooms and spices. Spring onions bring a delightful crunch alongside bamboo shoot and ginger to help cleanse the palate. The half egg is perfectly cooked. Not overly hard but still gooey in the middle. The 'soba' style noodles they use have a firm, slightly chewy texture which I personally adore. I am unsure if they source these elsewhere or if they're made in-house. Either way; the ingredients are delicately combined to give an incredible explosion of flavour! It left me feeling adequately full, however I could easily finish another bowl if presented. Worcester has needed a restaurant such as Maneki for a very long time and I pray it stays for many years. Maneki Ramen serves as a diamond in the rough. The delight I had from visiting for the first time remains. The flavours, even days later I remember. This restaurant is memorable, stylish, professional and classy. They deserve 5 stars throughout the board. I could not find fault. I fully recommend the establishment as they will definitely continue to receive my patronage going forward. Updated review- Second visit yesterday evening, went for the same dish as last time (duck ramen). The duck wasn't crispy and the broth was very oily and wasn't as spicy as last time (we ordered it spicy). This time it was just ok, not poor enough to raise to the staff but also not exceptional enough to be eager to return. I'm sure we will try again at some point and hope it's as good as the first time we visited. There were other little details too, like the menus are very worn to the point you can't read some of the things on it. And the beer my partner ordered was not very cold, but very expensive. No ice with drinks. Staff were friendly but seemed short as it was hard to get attention sometimes. It just seems this time the prices did not match the experience. We hope it improves again as the first time we went we were wowed.

Can't say enough good things about this place, but since this is a review I'll try. This restaurant is another level of class. The chefs and staff are friendly and highly skilled. Their ethos is beautiful using quality ingredients from local suppliers as well as forraged foods to add highly detailed touches to their dishes. They pick great wine and also create the perfect desserts to accompany their menu. And yet. . It's affordable! I mean, I feel totally privaliged to have such wonderful food in Worcester but for it to also be at prices where you can actually go and fully enjoy it with friends and family. Wow. The restaurant owners clearly know their stuff as the decore creates a beautiful experience and is so cool. Oh.. and did I mention the food tastes good? 😂 All I can say is get your face in it! 🍜

Me and my boyfriend came from Birmingham to Worcester just for Maneki Ramen! We had heard amazing things. Restaurant had a really lovely atmosphere and staff were SO friendly and attentive. We went for the Karaage chicken and Sichuan cucumber salad at first. The cucumber salad was so refreshing and chicken was crispy and flavourful with their green mayo! We both had the Sichuan duck ramen which was utterly delightful - broth was unbelievable with the most mouthwatering pieces of duck, along with noodles, egg, spring onions. We barely spoke when we were eating (a sign of AMAZING food, haha). Finished with the matcha vanilla cheesecake and miso caramel tart - an absolute treat. Up there with one of the best ramen restaurants we’ve ever had! We cant wait until you come to Birmingham! Highly recommend.

Just had a father and daughter date here with my youngest daughter. We arrived early and our table was already ready. The restaurant was already thriving and we were shown to our table. The service was excellent, with drinks in front of us in no time accompanied with the menu. We were told about tonight's special ramen dish which I opted for while my daughter had the kimchi chicken raven. Food arrived quick, and in as few words as possible... Holy crap, phenomenal. I had a beer for dessert and my daughter had the chocolate mousse! Which I pinched a bit of. Wow Everything here is great. The greeting, the presentation, the service, the menu, the food and the memories. Had a lovely evening with my daughter and really enjoyed our visit. More than highly recommended.

Went for the first time last week and I can't wait to go back. First off, I found it refreshing looking at the menu and not really knowing what anything was, thankfully they put a glossary of terms on the back for those not familiar with Japanese cuisine. The attention to detail and care put into the food was exceptional. I ordered the Tonkotsu Pork Ramen and it was amazing, it was creamy and rich, the ginger packed a punch and the pork was tender and delicious. The atmosphere was great as well, we sat indoors and they've done a great job of trying to emulate being on a Tokyo street, the lighting, wooden tiles on the wall and faux structures make it feel really different. Highly recommended, I'm looking forward to going back and trying some more dishes.
