Food was nothing special had better, Been told by a few people who have been the food isn't great like it used to be, wanted to see for myself as it was a special night with family, and other Stourport pubs are my usual local for food.

I was disappointed. Food was bland nothing to write home about. Had a steak which was ok had an odd taste, came with peas and onion rings & chips. Felt like i had 2 tins of peas on the plate they were never ending...the onion rings tasted the best out of the whole meal. Tried some garlic bread which was served had an odd taste really wasn't nice. And as for the condiments, there was no salt, and the ketchup tasted like vinegar (although it was in a Heinz bottle), thought that was just me but the whole party tried some and said it really wasn't good. No waiter came to see if things were ok with the food so I could ask or comment on these things. Have ZERO sweet vegan options (unless you want to be stuck with sorbet), NOT a vegan friendly pub. Considering pretty much all local pubs offer some vegan option.

All in all considering we spend over £100, in my personal opinion the quality of the food, the choices & the service is not worth it. Will stick with other Stourport pubs. Atleast I can have a proper dessert, normal ketchup and better tasting foods, at a lot better price. I highly doubt it would cost a fortune to add some vegan desserts to there menu. Some vegan ice cream, biscoff heated up, makes a great vegan sauce. Definitely needs a menu revamp in...

Great first visit to this pub.

NB: 20% off offer on Mon-Wed through September 2020.

Tuesday night was quiet and we were seated reasonably quickly to a clean table.

The menus are varied and very well priced and based on our experience all the portions for starters, mains and desserts were larger than any we have had elsewhere.

Service was very good, not interfering, just right with friendly and happy staff serving us throughout the evening. Our group had starters of prawn cocktail, fried chicken strips and mac and cheese balls with salsa. These came to us very well presented and in portion sizes bigger than any starters we have had before. They all had salad accompanying them. The chicken was a little overdone but we all happily finished them off.

For mains we had a rump steak, pan roasted chicken with sauteed new potatoes, ham and eggs and sausages and mash. Again great portion sizes, very well presented. Our people thought the chicken and sausages mains were lovely. The steak was described as good butbdry, perhaps slow cooked? And the cool ham would have been better had the ham been fresher.

The desserts were delicious. We had warm chocolate brownies which come with ice cream, and an awesome white chocolate cheesecake - thoroughly recommend that if you like cheesecake. One of the best I've ever tasted.

Easy ample parking outside.

Excellent range of cocktails.

Good wine options at reasonable prices.

I wish we had checked the reviews first. The drinks were as expected but the food really was miles away from what I would call edible.

O.K. We ordered from the lunch menu advertising 2 meals for £14 but cheap food shouldn't compromise on the basics such as warmth and moisture.

On arrival half of my lunch was dropped in my lap and on the floor whilst being put on the table, yet the waitress acted like this is a common accurance (maybe it is). After reconstructing my cold, tasteless baguette, I thought I'd give it a bit of flavour with Heinz tomato ketchup, only to realise thay a sweet, watery substitute tomato ketchup had been decanted into the Heinz bottle (at least be honest about it).

We would of course have said something to the waitress about the substandard quality of food given the chance, but as expected we were left with our sorry excuse of a lunch untill we got bored of waiting and went to the bar to pay.

I appreciate some cost was compensated by the barman after we complained but with so many businesses closing you would have thought a restaurant with such history as this would try and do more to impress its local customers.

Hope it changes going forward but we won't be going back any time soon.

If I could give 0...

We absolutely love to travel to this pub, the food is always superb. The staff are lovely (it's slow service) but we're used to it now. However, we are extremely put off since our last visit last week and the state of the tables. It was incredibly sticky (your elbows and belongings were sticking to it) a member of staff came and wiped the table once we had asked but it hadn't made a difference. We didn't want to make a fuss, but upon closer inspection of the table it's got layers of grime/build up on it (not just a little either, we're talking the length of the table). We didn't even want to place our cutlery or serviette down on the table due to the grime. We saw staff spraying and wiping the tables, but it's not achieving anything when the build up remains (and the solution you're using leaves the tables tacky). Please scrape/treat the gorgeous wooden tables.

Beautiful building, friendly welcoming staff, not eaten here my self but I've seen the food they serve and seen the service customers get, let's put it this way my partner and I are going back next weekend for a carvery. It all looks amazing. We sat Infront of a beautiful roaring log fire on a cold autumn afternoon drinking some very fine wine. I can't wait till winter so we can sit in front of that fire on nice comfy sofas, it's the perfect country pub just on the outskirts of town, pop in you really won't be disappointed.
