I’ve patronized this establishment for years. Hence the reason for my disappointment. During a recent visit, I ordered some food; but it was extremely stale and not fresh at all. This was very evident and you could tell the food was not newly cooked that day. I must say this was surprising as I’ve ordered here for years. I was even more disappointed by the staff members response to my complaint. Remind you I had gotten all the way home only to be dissatisfied by the stale food. Upon calling back, the staff member insisted that I bring the food back so they could physically see what I was talking about. Honestly they were in denial. I wasn’t rude in my request. I only asked very kindly if they could remake. However they insisted I was not being truthful and asked that I return the food so they could see what I was talking about. No problem. I brought the food back, and three gentlemen at the front literally argued with me that they always make their food fresh, opened up the bag, looked at the food and literally kept going back and forth about it. I was so shocked! I was like...why am I going through all this just to get fresh food. It was certainly not worth it for me. I’m thinking just make it over...I’m really not upset I just want my food to be fresh. Finally after going back and forth...they finally made my food over. The gentleman brought the old and new version of the food completely open so I could see the difference. I’m never patronizing this business again which is so sad. I’ve literally gone here for years. I refuse to go through all that for a simple request to remake food. It was my hard earned money spent for lousy food. The owner even admitted that my food was not made fresh and was recooked upon my order. Never again will I go through this for a request. There are plenty of other delicious Chinese restaurants who serve...
Read moreSo I went here to try a new spot as my regular Chinese spot is closed on Monday’s. Unfortunately the “4.5” stars at this restaurant didn’t live up to the expectations. The General tso chicken tasted greasy and low quality cuts of chicken, also there was no crunch the chicken was soggy compared to my go to spot. The Crab wontons you can tell we’re deep fried in very old oil. And also I would suggest to AVOID the beef lo me in. The quality of the beef was very low almost to the point of being off putting. This all being said I think this is a basic run of the mill Chinese spot 3 stars fits it nice.
My suggestions would be to use higher quality meats over all and also change the oil more often. The regular place I go to only uses thick clean tasting white breast meat chicken and is the same cost for more food. Also the chicken stays crispy even to the next day. Lees hunan needs to up their quality and quantity if they want to compete. Atleast in my opinion.
Overall I wouldn’t come here again purely because it was a let down on quality as it has seemingly high ratings but didn’t live to the...
Read moreWe stopped by on our way home to DC from New York to grab a bite. The food was great. We had the Spicy house fried rice & the fried fish - The zombie wasn’t half bad, either. Not only was the food delicious, the staff was also super pleasant and attentive - They made solid recommendations. When we arrived home, I noticed one of my iPhones was missing. After searching the car thoroughly, I called the restaurant. They told me I had in fact left my phone there and they tried to catch me but it was too late. Needless to say I wasn’t excited to have to drive 1.5 hours just to get my second phone back. I asked the gentleman if he would mind mailing my phone and he agreed without hesitation. He asked me to text him the address and he updated me once he had mailed my phone the very next day. I am so happy to have received it back in excellent shape, and currently using it to post this review. Excellent service all around and they went above and beyond. Whenever I’m on the road to New York again, I will make sure to stop by this amazing restaurant. I...
