My father had taken us to this place for mothers day. He had said that this place had good food and that he has been there a few times with co workers and my mom (which has passed 1 year ago), this was a party for 8 reserved @1pm. Now given that it was Mothers Day I did take that into consideration, but we sat for awhile before our menus were given to us. We had a variety of food mostly sandwiches except for mine I got a meal off the mothers day menu. 2pm rolls around and still no food. My dad started to get upset because everyone kept walking around and not checking on us. I seriously do not like writing bad reviews but this had me so upset because I have never in my life experienced the rudeness in this place. My husband is US Army Veteran and he started to get uneasy, 3 tables had received their food before us that came in after us, 1 table had already paid and left. By this time I asked if I could get my sons food because he had to be at work by 3. The waiter brought his sandwich out not to long after we requested it. My dad started to show some frustration and the waiter was by the table behind us and yelled sir you need to stop, and walked back to our table and said sir you need to stop. Now by this time I was upset, not once did the manger come out and talk to us or anything. But come to find out the lady who was walking around to tables WAS the owner. I really wanted to just pay for our drinks and go somewhere else instead. Our food finally came out about 2:30. Mind you, we sat @1pm. My food must have been sitting under the warmer for awhile because my pasta and shrimp were cold. My husband's Ruben sandwich was full of salt which my son had the same sandwich, my son tasted it and so that's to much salt taste mine. His sandwich tasted like a Ruben. My husband has health issues, so when we finally got the waiters attention again I gave him the sandwich and fries back and told him my husband could not eat it, it has to much salt, instead of him saying I'll have it corrected or I apologize and take the plate, he said what do you mean it has to much salt, we don't cook with salt. I told him to please take it back we don't want it. I'm sorry, but I have worked in restaurants, my sons father has ran restaurants and my husband is a big food person was NOT impressed. Once again, the owner never came to our table. We paid and left. I was hoping to make this a memorable experience since my dad used to take my mom here before she got sick, but this experience was by far the worst memorable Mothers Day lunch. I DO NOT recommend this place if you have more then 3 people. They can not handle large volume of people. It's not the customers fault if you only have " 2 employees" in the kitchen and the waiter we had, he really needs to work on his customer service and not yell at his customers when they get frustrated, best thing for him to do was get the manager, owner or whoever. Thats the 1st rule. No he took matters I to his own hands and now I have to write this long review and a over $300 bill later from a...
Read moreTerrible service! Never have I ever been so insulted… Waitress messes up an order from being Ny Strip steak to Sirloin… it was Our anniversary dinner… waitress implied she said however I ordered a NY Steak… waitress stumps off inappropriately saying “Oh MY God!” Instead of being apologetic…while my husband starts eating his dinner, the waitress leaves me with the sides… which would mean 30 min wait time for My (part) of dinner to and Our anniversary I’d like to eat together! As I tell the waitress they needed to cancel that steak Im not going to start eating while hes done totally unexceptable … The waitress states I cant cancel the order the cook started grilling the steak… I walk to an Red haired women asking her is she was a manager, she states she can be? The waitress now starts laughing and smirking at me… As I asked her was was so entertaining or funny the same women who identifies herself to being that manager looks like why I am furious… I brought to her attention how I feel insulted… and I didn’t find anything funny… Personally I didn’t find anything professional nor entertaining about how they handled the situation…. This waitress continues smiling and smirking the entire time my husband was finishing his meal… shocked because I never had nasty service like that… I normally order alot of carry out and we dine in as well, so this was very unsettlingly however I would never want to be placed in that situation ever again!!!! Never once did both of these individuals apologize nor try to accommodate me… If anything I felt as if this red haired women was identifying herself as an manager was excepting of her...
Read moreThis place is totally worth the 90 minute-2 hour drive. We had no idea this was where we were headed, but grateful this is where we landed. Let me premise that we were extremely hungry, and Mamie’s menu blew us away! I’m hoping you also have left overs as they’re even good reheated the next day. My friend had the broiled seafood platter, and I had fettuccine Alfredo with broiled crab, shrimp and scallops. Of course we shared, because to be honest, eat like a real family. Share the food, taste it, savor it. Each bite is exquisite. I also think the ambience adds to the wonderful meal that I’m sure everyone has had here. But I can only speak for myself. This place not only tantalized my taste buds but stimulated all of my senses by all that surrounded me. I must go back, as this place is magical! I felt like a little kid in a candy store. For Mamie’s dessert, I chose the rice pudding. Let me tell you, it’s like the perfect portion size and the right amount of cinnamon and whatever they use as cream base. Heavenly I tell you. Oh, and before I forget, we had the hush puppies for our app. And also complementary bread and butter. Believe me when I say, if you’ve never been to Mamie’s, go soon. I’m also blown away that from the street as I would have never thought what I would experience within its doors. I mean it folks, I’m as blown away as you are. My friend and I agreed that the next time we runaway, we’re returning here and trying something new on the menu. There’s just so much here to see and experience if you allow yourself to open your eyes. There should definitely be more hidden gems like this...
