Just "OK!" Had high expectations... as this had better reviews overall than a few of the other Mexican restaurants in the vicinity. Our waiter was a bit downright rude in the beginning, speaking to my daughter and her friend before any of the adults at the table. I was lost as to what he was even asking... as he was speaking to them. Granted they're 10 year old that look probably 12... but wouldn't a normal waiter/waitress acknowledge and direct an adult?!? We ordered and had to ask for more chips and salsa... then he asked us once after to refill... we were a party of 7. We really didn't see him much once our food arrived... finally got some extra napkins and refills for the kids towards the end of our meal. A group of 5 Hispanic women came in and sat near us and he spent most of the time flirting with them at their table. Most of the male workers/cooks in the kitchen kept peaking out to stare and gawk at them too... as our table was right next to the door. We waited a good 15 minutes for him to come around in order to take dessert orders... then 30 minutes after we were all finished with dessert for him to come back to us with the check. All the while he was at the womens table not too far, flirting and carrying on. I swear if we were the type.... we could have dined and dashed with no problem. Our total came to well over $120...and I have no idea what was on it... as I just gave him our card. They were no where near busy on a Sunday evening... I'd expect any waiter working off a basis of expecting a 20% tip... to actually offer decent service in order to secure a decent tip. Our family normally tips at least 25% or more, as we feel dealing with our party size and the fact that we have a 2 year old in tow... isnt easy. The food... honestly, wasn't all it was made up to be in the reviews. I'm from Las Vegas and have had some amazing Mexican food... this doesn't even come close to ranking near any bar. The enchilada sauce looks like dark barbecue sauce and has a weird taste similar to bbq. The chicken was dry.. the salsa was good, but the chips were thick and hard... almost stale and old. There was tons of grease too... omg, the grease!! The fries ice cream was tasteless! And we ordered the flam cake too... tiny compared to the pictures!! I did like some of the decor though. There were these cool hanging star lanterns... and their mirror wall was nice. We'll have to keep looking for a good Mexican restaurant...
Read moreI took my mom here for Mother's Day, as she loves Mexican food and loves this restaurant. I am not a fan of Mexican food, but we have been here several times, and I can always find something good on the menu. However, this particular time was not a good experience for me or my daughter, who was also dining this day. I ordered a Cabo salad 🥗 thinking that you couldn't go wrong with a salad. When my salad arrived LAST out of 4 other dishes, I was disappointed. The shrimp in the "salad " were fully shelled with legs on. I was not expecting to have to peel shrimp that had melted cheese on them BEFORE or as I ate my salad. After attempting to make it work, my spouse asked the waitress if she could take it back. The waitress (who was great during the entire service) had the manager on duty (young lady looked about mid 20's) come over. I was not expecting her comment as she brought back my "salad" (chopped iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes on side of plate, diced cucumbers on the other side of the plate and shelled shrimp complete with legs with melted cheese on top) and said "the salad looks just like the picture on the menu." I stated that I was not expecting to have to shell shrimp with melted cheese on top as I ate my salad. " She repeated that the salad looked like the picture in the menu. She then just "flatly" asked what would I like. I stated that I didn't want anything on the menu. Please also note that my daughter ordered the Classico 10oz. Steak and it was unseasoned and very fatty (See photo). It looked NOTHING like the "picture on the menu."
Once again, the waitress was excellent, and she received a generous tip because HER service outweighed the rest of the experience. As my mom still loves Mexican food, we will seek out another restaurant in the area in the hopes of better food and good service. I would not recommend this restaurant because of the service, the quality of the food and the management relying on "staged" pictures to determine the quality and appearance of...
Read moreSan Felipe is a true treasure for anyone who loves authentic Mexican cuisine! From the moment I entered, I was welcomed by the warm and vibrant atmosphere, complete with colorful decor and the tantalizing aroma of spices that instantly whetted my appetite.
We started our meal with the Chips and Salsa, and I was impressed by the freshness of both! The salsa had just the right kick, bursting with flavor and made from ripe tomatoes, cilantro, and a hint of lime. The tortilla chips were crispy and perfectly salted, setting the stage for a fantastic dining experience.
For my main course, I ordered the Carnitas Tacos, and they did not disappoint! The slow-cooked pork was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, topped with fresh onions and cilantro, all served in warm corn tortillas. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, and I could have easily eaten several more!
My dining companion chose the Chicken Enchiladas, smothered in a rich and zesty green sauce. She couldn’t stop raving about how delicious they were, highlighting the perfectly cooked chicken and the cheesy topping that melted in her mouth.
We also indulged in a couple of margaritas, and they were fantastic—refreshingly tangy and made with fresh lime juice, they complemented our meal beautifully.
The service at San Felipe was outstanding. Our server was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu, offering great suggestions and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal.
Overall, San Felipe exceeded all my expectations! It's the perfect spot for a casual dinner with friends or a fun family gathering. I can't wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for an authentic Mexican...
