I have been going to Aldi almost as my family’s sole grocery store for two years now. I spend anywhere from 150-200 a week on groceries. I prefer the one in Sanford but it is a bit of a drive since we moved to Southern Pines. And I had seen the reviews of the “rude cashier” and as someone who also has been a cashier at Walgreens during peak pandemic I thought maybe it was demanding customer or something. So when I walk up to the only register open the light is on and there is no cashier. I did not do self check out because I had about 200 worth of groceries to purchase. So I’m standing there waiting for someone to come up and the only employee around who is unloaded boxes turns around and makes a shooing motion and tells me to load my groceries, I was confused so I said “there’s no one here?” As in no one at the register and she repeats herself rudely again. So I did load up all my things and she finally scans my things and I’ve already done my payment at this point and I’m waiting on her. And I don’t think working in retail or any kind requires you to be over the top nice or pleasant. But to be so blatantly rude so much so that there are multiple reviews about your attitude, maybe just chill out? It’s not that serious, we all work. I work at a prison and deal with offenders who are nicer than she is. This was around 9:30 am 2/8/25. I don’t expect anything to be done about this either as everyone deserves a livable wage and as far as employers Aldi’s is a lot better than most...
Read moreI absolutely LOVE Aldi! I shop there quite frequently. However, this shopping trip was less than ideal. My 10 year old son and I gathered the items we intended to purchase and went to the self check out. As we proceeded to do so, the credit card machine would not allow me to press anything on the screen. So I figured I would just have the cashier void the order and I would move to another register and try that. The cashier had a horribly ugly attitude and asked if she could help me. I said yes could you please void the order so I can move to a different register because the credit card machine would not allow me to tap anything on the screen. She said try tap to pay, did you think about that. Well my card does not have that option and I explained that to her. She continued with the nasty attitude and rolled her eyes and proceeded to mumble under her breath. After some going back and forth with her, she finally agreed to void the order to allow me to switch registers. The lack of professionalism and customer service was appalling. It will be a whole before I return to that store. Because do not want to chance another interaction with her. I wish I knew her name because I would be happy to provide it. The interaction took place on 7/26/24...
Read moreI started going there fairly recently and everything was okay, everytime I went in the staff was respectful the food was cheap and it was an easy way for me to live off of $20 for a week of food. But then one day I go in to buy some pizzas because I didn't feel like cooking anything that day and when I went to self checkout I pulled out my wallet and realized I left my card at home, I planned on having someone take them off the machine and come back with my card and buy them but when I clicked the button to have someone help me take them off of the self checkout I sat there for about 2 minutes waiting patiently after a while of everyone waiting on me to finish my transaction I hit the button again thinking maybe something went wrong and the cashier yelled at me asking me what i want, i politely told her i needed to take the pizzas off and she rolled her eyes at me and took them off the mission. It was unnecessary and extremely rude for how kind I was being, I've worked in customer service for a while and I understand having a rough day but I never took it out on the customer. I won't be going back there again, 1 mistake and I was...
