Abilene Garden Club — Restaurant in Abilene

We had to clean the venue prior to using it, which I wouldn't have minded, but we left the venue in a much better condition than we found it, and were docked on our deposit for areas we did not even use. We mopped the floors, and only used the kitchen for storing a few bags of ice, and were informed that there was a 50 dollar charge for mopping the kitchen floors because they were allegedly sticky. Again, we did not use this area of the venue. (We had mopped it anyways, despite that, and no drink/food spills) We were told the garden club themselves had used the venue prior to our event, and that we may have to tidy up. I feel that it is unfair that we had to handle the organizations mess, and then got charged extra, which is unjustified. Also noted the air conditioner doesn't work very well, and our guests complained of being to hot. Also, there were tons of ants, when we got there, that was gross. Place was good size, but HOT! I believe they probably need a new ac system, since they sent a tech out about 3 times, still did no good. I feel like we should have been reimbursed at least some, due to ALOT of our guest saying it was hot, fanning themselves, even with us purchasing big floor fans from Home Depot, so a few of our guests left early. Also come to find out a few people who have rented this spot in the past said the exact same thing...
