I canât adequately put into words how thankful we are to have met Russell Lorfing. He is not only a brilliant and experienced federal attorney, but is a man of good character. One who whole-heartedly went above and beyond to defend my husband, all the while treating us like family. Russell and his team greatly helped restore my husband and Iâs faith that there truly are some great attorneys out there that really care about justice. My husband was falsely accused of a federal crime many years back, and sadly, at that time, we did not know who to turn to. Unfortunately we hired an ineffective attorney, to put it politely. He only worked hard at trying to get my husband to plead guilty. He took our money, but didnât communicate at all what he was doing or help prepare us. My husband was rushed through trial with no defense, and heartbreakingly spent over a decade in prison for something he didnât do. Believe me, Iâve seen the spectrum of the worst to the best of lawyers. So after my husband was finally home, he started going to his mandatory classes. He was being honest about his situation and doing everything in his power comply on all the work required. After going to every class and explaining what he had been through, he was eventually kicked out due to not admitting guilt. Instead of helping him find a counselor that would work with him in his situation, like he asked for many times, he was arrested for not being in compliance. A good friend of ours had heard of the exceptional reputation of Russell Lorfing and recommended him to me. The anguish and fear we were going through once again was unbearable. After talking to Russell and telling him my husbands story, he decided to take our case, but let us know it would be a tough fight. Russell went to work immediately, and I mean that day. He went to stand with my husband at a hearing we had just found out about as we were speaking on the phone. That meant the world to my husband and our kids and I. I soon found out what a true attorney is like. Especially one who has a passionate heart to help people. He communicated clearly, and answered our questions about everything that he and his team were working on along the way. They always wanted to know our thoughts. In the next hearing, Russell and Chris Solis fought hard for us. They were successful at having my husband released to come home as we prepared for the next big hearing. After that, again, Russell worked tirelessly preparing for the next fight. He stayed in touch with us throughout each step and made us feel like we were his only client. As the date of the hearing approached, we were unbelievably thankful to hear that, through all of the strategies and communication that Russell and his team had done, the charges had been dropped. Many in our community have prayerfully supported our family over the years and this meant the world to all of us. Each win that Russell was able to work for us was nearly unheard of, but he precisely prepared for each step, knew how to artfully communicate, and was persistent. All the while they were hospitable. Wendi in the office made sure Russell received my communication and documents and made us feel comfortable when we visited. I wholeheartedly recommend Russell Lorfing if you need an attorney. He is a real advocate. He completely knows his way around the courtroom and will fight smart and hard for you. He truly is worth every single penny and more. If you are in need of an attorney, look no further than Russell Lorfing. You will not be...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would! My son was going through something that was just completely blown out of proportion, and I hired Russell Lorfing to help. Originally he pawned us off on Joel Wilkes, but after seeing how Joel handled the expulsion hearing with the school, we asked to work with Russell directly. We paid them $5,000 for a retainer fee and was never explained how anything worked, just asked to sign on the dotted line. The whole time we had horrible communication and never got updates. I constantly had to follow up with them to check on the case. Most of the time- we actually heard from the probation officer with updates before we EVER heard from Russell and his team. When we did finally hear updates, it was either information we had already spoken to someone else about, or nothing new. We constantly asked for explanations as we had never been through something like this and we could tell Russell was being impatient and just ready to be done with us. At one point, he told us he was so embarrassed by his staffâs lack of communication that he would refund our money and let us find someone else. (We should have taken him up on it). I actually went to the school directly and had my sonâs expulsion lowered myself and I was frustrated that we paid so much money- only to have to do things ourselves. After not being able to come to an agreement with the court, we were set to attend a Juvenile Jury. Russell knew almost nothing about Juvenile trials and should have never taken our case. Not to mention- he lied to us multiple times. At the beginning, he told us he was going to sue the county/city/state for free for us- which we knew quickly was never going to happen. At one time, he also told us he wanted to buy my son shoes (which I explained he didnât need to) but he insisted after he knew we were frustrated (Bribery). However, we never ACTUALLY got the shoes. When confronted about being a liar, he told me he had planned on buying the shoes after my sons trial- which was VERY hard to believe considering the trial was nearly a year away. Why ask for someoneâs shoe size that early if you are going to buy them shoes a year from now?! We finally got fed up when he asked for $5400 more to continue working on the case. I asked why we were paying this amount of money before the trial considering nothing had really been done up until this point, and Russell got immediately defensive and basically screamed at me that he was dropping us altogether. Iâm sorry, but when a lawyer is that emotional off of a simple question of âwhat have you done so far to earn this additional $5400?â - he probably shouldnât be a lawyer! After he told me he was going to drop us, I told him about how I thought we had been lied to, and he started recording me on the call, and I hung up. He then preceded to text me how, âHE HAD NEVER HAD A CLIENT HANG UP ON HIM IN HIS CAREER.â After signing the motion to withdrawal counsel, I asked for a refund for what we had already paid him, and he refused. I am very disappointed in how this was handled. After taking a step back, we are dealing with a 10 yr olds case, and for him to not look at that situation and understand that says VOLUMES about his character. He would rather put a working class family in a bind over $5000 with nothing to show for it, than be the bigger person and refund us, accept his lack of responsibility with this case and move on. I would NEVER RECOMMENDED...

My name is Ron and currently I am a Professor at a University. The purpose of these remarks is to share my observations concerning attorney at law, Russell Lorfing.
Recently one of our sons was involved in a legal matter that potentially could have sent him to prison, perhaps for ten years, and with a significant fine. As we prayerfully pursued legal assistance, we trusted the Lord for a lawyer who would battle our sonsâ legal case and stand by him as a strong Christ-like role model. Those prayers were answered and then some.
From the first time we consulted with Russell, to see if he would even consider the case, we could tell that he was an engaged listener with an intentional desire to understand the details of the legal matter. It was easy to tell that Russell, first and foremost, cared about our son as a person and then as a potential client. He began our initial meeting by asking about our sonsâ life so he could get to know the character and soul of our son, and then he preceded to ask about the specifics of our sonâs legal issues. It was evident Russell wanted to first build a relationship then provide legal counsel. It became clear quickly that our prayers had been answered. My wife and I began to feel a deep peace about the lawyer who was about to take our sons life into his own legal hands. We left our initial meeting with confidence and a sense of justice prevailing. We needed that assurance to calm are own distress. As our sonâs case moved forward Russell would provide timely and detailed communication. He was always honest and more importantly always hopeful. If we ever had a question, we were given his personal cell number so we would have quick access to his guidance. As the case moved forward, we could tell Russell was giving our sons case undivided attention and was determined to seek justice and get the best settlement possible. Russell outlined best and worst-case scenarios which allowed us to concentrate our hopes and prayers on the best legal outcome. All the time Russell was representing our son he was establishing a rich relationship with our him. To give you an example of his commitment to caring first and representing second, he offered to use his own vehicle to go pick up our son from his rehab center during the unprecedented snow we recently experienced in Texas. He has a four-wheel drive vehicle which could handle the treacherous road conditions of this rare arctic vortex. With the highest regard and respect possible I highly recommend him for those in need of a layer who exemplifies dedicated legal representation, unquestionable ethical standards and genuine care for his clients. He has been a Godsend and a blessing to our family. On an important side note: he was able to get the grand jury to throw out own sons case and keep him from having a felony on his record. Unbelievable best-case outcome. We will forever be indebted to his...
