Bogie's Downtown Deli — Restaurant in Abilene

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Now that I work in the area I just go here for lunch all the time. I want to try more things on their menu but due to health restrictions I can only have a few things, but to be honest I’m ok with it. Portions on their salads (including this bad boy here, Isle of Fury) are massive and delicious. Also I really really appreciate the cashier because they know my name and allays always address me by my name. If I got the same thing every time I’m pretty sure they would see me walking in and just know my order by heart. Good customer service is so hard to come by these days! It’s never super packed either when I go in so it’s comfortable. I’m kinda surprised though because this place should be super packed all the time ! It’s a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. I work downtown and this morning, I forgot my breakfast. I decided to stop in at Bogies and it was my first time eating breakfast there. I was warmly greeted by what I assume was the manager or owner — he was incredibly friendly and quick to welcome me.

I mentioned that I’d never tried their breakfast before, and he took the time to explain the different types of breakfast bagels they offer. He was very kind and attentive. The prices were very affordable; I spent less than $10, and everything was made fresh to order.

I chose the Hollywood Lightning (2018) with sausage, and it was fantastic — if you like things with a little heat, this one’s for you! He also mentioned they offer online ordering and call-ahead options, which is very convenient.

The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely make Bogies my new downtown breakfast spot....

Go here for meetings on a monthly basis. It’s a great theme and idea, but the food is not executed well. There are lots of options for sandwiches, but the menu is extremely hard to read. I’ve ordered something different every time, yet every sandwich I have eaten was something I thought I could make at home... Nothing to brag about.
