Heff’s Burger & Bar — Restaurant in Abilene

Went to eat here Thursday, we walk in. Staff standing around, wasn't busy at all. As it was about 30 minutes after it opened. Nobody and I mean nobody greeted us, just looked at us and said not one word (staff). Owner was just sitting at a table talking. Finally after a few minutes. Waitress finally says we could sit anywhere. After a couple minutes she comes to hand us our menus. Ordered the nachos, which were being enjoyed, until there was a big hair in it. And another one on my fork smh, guacamole and pace picante sauce (because it's not salsa) was super cold. Coke was watered down. I stopped eating, and informed the waitress. The nachos were taken off the tickets, because of the hair. This was the second time, we had a bad experience here. First time there was a roach by the food. And we were told they had just sprayed. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Because, I know all food establishments have some issues. I gave them another shot, but we definitely will not be going back. After another bad experience, lack of good customer service especially. We should have known, the red flag was not being greeted. Sadly, because I was unable to finish my food. And I was still hungry. We had to go somewhere else to get something to eat. Also was told the other meal would be a combo. And was charged for the burger, fries and drink separate. Owner needs to also step up her customer service skills. As well...

Only good food here is the salad bar and baked potato bar. The meals and baskets are trash. How they can charge so much for either is baffling. How they can mess up chicken fingers..even more baffling. Not many places in the mall to eat either. Only reason I’ve been to this location twice is because it’s a Sunday night and El Chicos closes at 5 and I didn’t pay either time. I want to like them, but I’m not a huge salad only person. First time I went in they were out of pretty much everything except the salad bar, so I got that. This time I went in they had everything, but the chicken in the chicken fingers was stretchy and the meat in the chicken fried steak was chewy. Idk why they stopped having servers either. Now they have this system wheee you go in, seat yourself and go up to register to order the food. You get a buzzard and when it buzzes you pick up your food from this table. First time we went there was a server who served us, but we did have to seat ourselves which was fine. I just thought of it more as a sit down restaurant than a fast food place like McDonald’s. I can’t speak on their appetizers as I haven’t had them. It feels like more of a bar than...

First time eating here! Very very good food! The owner the staff truly good people! Definitely going to make this our stop for awesome food while in Abilene! When I got home back in Odessa! My baby in the phot at half of my chicken fried steak! Want to add don’t even need a knife to cut their chicken fried steak it’s so tender you can cut it with a fork! We dined in. They have a wonderful salad and desert bar! Me and my momma went in to eat! We fixed our salads while we waited for our food and there was so much to choose from on the salad bar we had to put our entire dinner in a to go box! Everything was so fresh and their onion rings are out of this world so so good! Everything nicely seasoned, cooked perfect! They make this wonderful chocolate pudding. I ate so much of that and my salad I was full! I highly recommend this restaurant! Love it when you find such good food and nice atmosphere! So so awesome, so glad we stopped there! This will probably be our stop to eat after our doctor appointment! I’m gonna eat something different every time will be back with more great photos! Also I want to add they have bands...
