Thinking about having your wedding there? Don’t. We rented the esplanades room back in april for October wedding. 4 days before the wedding they called me to tell me they don’t allow music in there. They offered me a tiny “overflow” room that’s meant for 25-30 people classroom style. We had 58 people. We reserved the first floor president suit. Friday at check in, our room wasn’t ready. We kept waiting and waiting. They finally told us they gave our room away and offered us the second floor. At that point, we are late for our rehearsal so we took it. The morning of the wedding, rental started at 8am. There’s no linens on the tables. We let the front desk know. Hour later, still no linens. Asked again and again. Finally at 10:45 one of my people reached across the desk and got the coordinator’s personal number and asked where the linens were. She then tracked down the person with the key and we put the linens on. On my wedding day, instead of relaxing snd getting ready, I was putting linens on tables so we could start decorating. I paid for this service so I didn’t have to worry about it. My step dad requested and needed a handicap room. They did not give him one. At dinner we sat down with food and realized they never set out the silverware. Also no napkins, I had to get up from my reception dinner to go ask for the napkins we requested. They brought the wrong color. Wedding time. The plan was to go out the side door and around the building so no one would see me. Get to the EMERGENCY door snd it’s broken and will not open. I had to sit in a dirty luggage cart in my white dress snd be pushed with a sheet over me. The front desk continually did not give my guests their welcome bags. We had to pack up everything and move to a tiny room, many of our guests left because there was no where to sit. Oh and that room was like pulling teeth to get chairs put in there. My mother had to handle that one and was nearly in tears because they wouldn’t do what she was repeatedly asking. Several of my guests said the bartender was rude and didn’t know how to pour keg beer and a lot of it got poured out. The front desk was rude. At check in time, the lady who was checking is in, was going on and on about my husband’s x wife. Seriously? Yep. They just did not care at all. The amount of stress that day was overwhelming for all of us. My wedding day was ruined. I will say, the food was good. The housekeeping staff was the only people who seemed like they cared. They are the ones who brought the sheet for me to cover up so I could get to my ceremony unseen. There’s more. These are just...
Read moreVery well locate next to everything! How ever I found there aren’t enough cameras on the outside. The outside is dated ran down. With it being a busy road I’d expect more. When you first walk in it’s musty.! The inside seems like it’s trying to be fancy but isnt and makes it feel dirty. Too much cloth . If you work in any cleaning industry you know what I mean. The lay out is kinda okay. But can be confusing. I would expect a nice clean smell when I walk into such a highly rated hotel.
Wasn’t to loud as we stayed during the week. The elevator could use cleaning. The room was very dated.
With it like that you have to keep things extra clean. Every corner and edge of the floor and room needs a good vacuum wipe down. All the walls need a wipe down ceiling could use updates and paint. All furniture is dated and chipped.! Toilet wasn’t clean around bottom. Water pressure sucked! There is however 3 sinks. Had to use different sink after using the restroom.
All items need a better dusting. Curtains need cleaning.
Found bug on curtain. Booger in bedding. Makeup on pillow cases. Stained bedding.
The beds however were bug free and pillows!
As someone who has worked as a house keeper and cleaning homes ect. I’m very observant.
Also there was a pole sticking out from under the bed. Have no idea why. The mattresses themselves were dated. Worn.
The pull out coach was a thin spring mattress. Dated as well. Window seals needed cleaning.
Shower was actually pretty clean. As well as the towels.
The smell of the room. When the ac kicked on was like your dads old work truck with a hint of must. So like dirt and must mixed together.!
Woke up with my sinus acting up. So would probably check on the filters or vents to hotel.
I did notice what I assume was security at night sitting in an office.
Made the place seem safe. Felt safe in building.
Did have people knock twice on wrong room.
Hall ways though open to whole area was hot and smelled like must.
Hotel needs whole upgrade. Especially some type of purification process. With plants and fountains and carpet and all the fabrics. It just has a set in must smell.
Now the pros
The size of the rooms are great! Gets nice and dark. Though dated and musty. If you can get past that. You’ll be okay.
many people can with the free this and that packages they offer.
That of which I didn’t use or try.
Would be a good deal if hotel did some...
Read moreIt was a good hotel but needs some pointers to make it better. First off there were less than 10 channels on the tv. I have more channels on my tv at home and I don't have cable, dish, suddenlink, etc. I have basic tv over the air. That was ridiculous. The main reason why we go to a hotel is they have lots of channels we wouldn't normally get. I was very disappointed in that. This type of hotel should have more channels. Next, the bathroom was really small. But I did feel tall in the short ceiling. Also their showers are the weirdest type I have ever seen. The first night it was extremely hot. The next night was better but the last night was hot. It was burning hot.My skin was on fire!! The breakfast was okay. There was a lot of options like cereal, pancakes, eggs, bacon, toast, etc. But I was not impressed, I could make better at home. I do like the game area they had. 2 pool tables, foosball, ping pong, and shuffleboard. But you have to give the front desk an id or 5 dollars. That was pretty fun. The pool was very clean and nice. The hot tub was as well. They have towels available as well. The pool watchers were creepy! There was one gentleman who was there every night. He was very rude. My family and I were in the hot tub when he sprayed some stuff into the hot tub. Who does that??!! Not very smart on his part! That was so idiotic. Then he had a little broom that swept all the water back into the pool/hot tub. Word of warning to families with kids. They make you wear a green bracelet for kids if they go swimming. It was so dumb. You should not have to wear it if you are old enough to drive. My friends and I are 17 and the guy at the pool made us wear one. Buddy I think if the state allows me to legally drive then I think I can swim without a freaking bracelet. There were also two spiders on the beds. In conclusion it was nice hotel and service was okay but they need to improve on a lot of stuff. I thought since the price was so high the hotel would make...
