So happy to see a pie shop in Abilene! I lived down the street from a place called Hoosier Mama in Chicago. They made the best pies in the city, in my opinion. I bought their cookbook and everything. When I moved to Abilene the 1st time, back in 2015, I was sad that there was no pie shop in the area. I am not a great baker, so I just went without pie for a while :)
How happy was I to find that Abilene now has a pie shop! And not just a shop, but right outside the store, there's a vending machine that serves up slices of pie! I ordered a key lime slice and a peanut butter slice from the vending machine, and then I went inside to see what they had. I ordered a slice of chocolate and a slice of their chili relleno quiche.
Wooooow! I can't rave enough about how great these slices are. The chocolate was perfect. Not too sweet, great chocolate flavor with a perfect crust. Same with the peanut butter. Perfect peanut butter flavor. I haven't tried the key lime or quiche yet, but i'm confident that it will be just as amazing as the others!
Aug 8 - tried the chicken salad for the first time and WOW. Though I don't love chunky celery, I did love the flavors in the salad itself. So, I ate around the celery as much as I could. Wish I would've checked to make sure the crackers were in the bag before I left because I had to eat it plain, but I survived, HA!
I ordered an iced mocha latte, but I don't think I got the mocha flavor added. It was still great through!

Read moreWe were just by to use the vending machine and we opened it up on an empty slot on accident, so I came inside to let them know because we paid double ($12) for one slice of pie and nicely waited in line. She came outside with her laptop saying there were no cash transactions and said she was “just saying” that there were no cash transactions.. which is insenuating that we didnt pay. We paid $12 cash, at about 1:30 pm theyve been open for several hours. I told her no i definitely just paid $6 twice ($12 cash) she dropped the $6 cash on the ground infront of me after she opened it and there WAS cash in the machine and she said she didnt drop the cash earlier. HORRIBLE VERY UGLY AND RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. LESLIE THE OWNER of all people. If she really didnt believe me she couldve pulled the cameras. We come here all the time and wont be back. $6 for a slice of pie we pay all the time, but other bakerys deserve my money. I even told her it was my fault that i opened an empty vending slot but she chose to be disgustingly rude. I dont care how good the pie is, its not worth the disrespect ESPECIALLY from the owner, Leslie. Im honestly in disbelief.
Oh yeah and if she hadnt came outside with her laptop insenuating i didnt pay cash at all (like how did i get the pie slice i had in my hand??) then the refund wouldve gone right back into the machine for...
Read moreI ordered the Chocolate Buttermilk expecting a silky smooth pie. But the chocolate buttermilk pie is literally a BROWNIE in a pie crust. That’s fine if the menu was labeled more accurately. I would not have ordered it if I knew it was going to be a brownie.
The sweet tea is not freshly brewed in house, that’s also not detailed on the menu. It just says tea and sweet tea. It bottled from Gold Peak. Which is fine, just wish the menu detailed that instead of just “sweet tea”.
The taco salad tasted good, but the taco shell was not crispy.
I probably would not order food from here again and want to try the coconut cream pie next time.
I’m not trying to be a “Karen” I just wish the menu described their food and pie accurately so I could have...
