EDIT: we went back to celebrate Father’s Day and had a much better food experience (the waitress needs to learn the menu better since there was crawfish in a dish and I asked for clarification (I’m allergic to crawfish/lobster) and she had no idea what it was and tried to say it was crab. We had to ask her a couple times to clarify with the chef)

We order the: shrimp trumpets (try them they are delicious!) The boudin eggrolls (for me it was a no go because of the crawfish in the cheese sauce) The seafood Chilli Relleno (it was freaking delicious) A seafood boil (also freaking yummy) A grilled cheese for the little one (he devoured it along with some of the crab) Added more pics below The food was pretty on point!

I absolutely love this restaurant on a good day but the last 2 times I’ve gone it hasn’t quite hit the mark. Our appetizers are always delicious (the shrimp trumpets are so dang good). However, our meals from the Mother’s Day menu on Mothers Day were disappointing. We ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with miso glaze and it was so sweet that it went uneaten. (Never expected to have fish that’s sweet and drowning in sauce, the presentation was beautiful but not the flavor). The risotto was crunchy on the inside and gummy on the outside. The red fish dish had good flavors but the fish was overly breaded. And the waiter told us as he was setting the plate down that they used a different pasta and he hoped that it was okay as he was setting the plates down. (Not a big deal but I feel that’s something you tell someone before you bring them your food). I even voiced my issues with the waiter and was told he’d let the kitchen know and that was the end of it. The time before everything was so spicy that we could barely eat it. (Apparently someone put Cajun seasoning on my child’s food and all in my crab boil plate (I had requested it on the side...

Hit all the marks. Options and flavors were on point. I hated Catfish in Florida but Texans know how to do Catfish. These guys have Catfish tasting like Snapper it was delicious and clean tasting, not even a hint of muddy taste. The calamari starters were also great, not overly breaded, tender, and packed with flavor. The pastry chef should be arrested for that bread pudding lol it's heavenly, surprisingly not overly sweet and at first doesn't look like your Nana's traditional bread pudding but one bite and you'll be a bread pudding fein. Our server was patient, attentive and offered great advice on the menu as it was our first time, she even went along with my weird ordering lol. Overall truly pleased with the service and taste will deff be back. No bread pudding pic it was...

We stopped in to eat here this evening (4/23) but walked out. We stood at the hostess station in front of the sign that advised we wait to be seated.

Several kitchen workers and a couple of the wait staff saw us / looked at us. But not a single employee said hello , we will be with you shortly, or anything at all.

After standing there and not being acknowledged for a while, my date decided she was ready to leave.

Also, the man in the kitchen who was plating the food, was doing so with his bare hands. Big turn off. If you’ve never been here before.. you can clearly see the kitchen staff from the host station.

Save your money. Choose...

This was a drive along Galveston Bay. We stepped into a Spartan eatery with the best landlocked seafood we’ve ever had. We have eaten all over the Texas coast, the Florida, Oregon, Washington, and California coasts and that was the best “Shrimp and Grits” we have tasted. Justo was a great help in letting us know about the menu and was perfect without hovering! I don’t often give out 5 stars but this was such a pleasant surprise in Abilene, TX. Give Galveston Seafood Company a try! You’ll be glad you did!
