We had a group of friends together last night at The Pour House after an event we went to. 2 people joined our group after a supposed incident with one of them (which we had no knowledge of until after), and a bartender came over to inform her she was cut off. That’s fine—we never attempted to give her more drinks, and she was sitting calmly and talking with us. She and her husband were not asked to leave at that time. Another bartender served some other people in our group some more drinks, and then randomly came over and said our entire group was cut off and we had to leave. NO ONE in our group was doing anything unruly, and the whole thing was truly bizarre. Then the bartender told my husband he was fine but I wasn’t after I only had one drink and wasn’t doing anything at all. He was unwilling to hear anything that proved he was wrong and misinformed. And the manager did nothing to fix the situation or reprimand the bartender after admitting to us that we shouldn’t have been kicked out and it was all a misunderstanding. This situation was embarrassing for our group and was handled beyond poorly. There has got to be better communication between bartenders and management if you’re going to decide to cut someone off and then randomly loop in the rest of the group with them for no reason. We usually love The Pour House, but due to the poor way this situation was handled by the bartender and management, we and the rest of our group will not be returning here and I don’t recommend anyone else do the same unless you want to be embarrassed and kicked out for no good...
Read moreThis might be THE place for some people, but it's not the ideal place for lounging and having a quiet relaxing cocktail. The look and feel of the interior decor says "sophisticated cocktail lounge", but the music and the bar tenders give off clubbing at Guitars and Cadillac vibes. I don't know if this place changed hands since it originally opened, but it is not the same. Last night there was a DJ playing music so loud the bartenders did not even get our drink orders correct. They made the saddest Old Fashioned for my husband, and an elderflower spritzer for me and my friend that was extremely disappointing. The bartender even tried to argue a little bit about how the drink was made. If you do not have the correct ingredients for a cocktail, don't say you can make it and then argue with your patrons. Not worth the money at all. The music was so loud that we had to sit in the resident lounge area of the Windsor building so we could talk and enjoy our mediocre drinks. This bar is for some people and that is awesome for you, I am happy you found your place in town. If you are looking for a classy, low key place for a relaxing cocktail, this is just...
