Great Vietnamese Food. there are few Vietnamese restaurants in the area that warrant particular attention but this is one that you really shouldn't pass up. I've dined here over a dozen times now and the food and the service are consistently outstanding.
The fresh summer rolls and the crispy spring rolls are excellent starters but the real stars in my not so humble opinion are the phos and the bun bo hue. Whether you prefer the bone on chicken pho, or the easier to handle pho ga (boneless chicken), you really can't go wrong here. The pho sates are also worth exploring. The beef phos are equally flavorful but for me their bun bo hue is a favorite. Bun bo hue is the "Hue" style of spicy hot beef noodle soup, the broth is richly flavored and on the hotter side, but I like to crank it up to 11 for authenticity. Also very good is the green papaya salad with pork or shrimp. Normally this is the stuff of colder months but on hot summer days, the food is equally well suited. The menu also has plenty of bun (noodle), broken rice and rice offerings too. The bun thit nuong (with grilled pork) is also excellent.
The food here is simple, honest and reasonably priced. The waiters, two of whom used to be at Pho & Beyond, are always pleasant and helpful. I've let them order for me on several occasions.
I really like this place and I'll be back...
Read moreI recently visited Pho Ben City with my husband, and we had such a fantastic meal! I ordered the shrimp pho, and it was absolutely delicious—the shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the broth had a rich, aromatic flavor that really hit the spot. My husband went for the beef pho, and he was equally impressed. The beef was tender, and the broth had that perfect savory depth that makes pho so comforting.
We also tried the chicken dumplings, which were a real highlight. They had a crispy bottom and a savory filling that was just the right balance of flavor. The spring rolls were another great addition—they were fresh, light, and packed with crisp veggies and herbs, making them the perfect appetizer to start off the meal.
To finish, we had the mango smoothie, which was both refreshing and delicious. It had a creamy mango flavor with little jello pieces inside that added a fun texture and made it even more enjoyable.
What really stood out was how affordable everything was. For the quality and portion sizes, we were pleasantly surprised by how budget-friendly it all was. The service was friendly and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made it a really pleasant dining experience. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this spot to anyone craving amazing pho and tasty Vietnamese dishes at a...
Read moreThe food was good of what I could eat , the Pho was pretty good. However I think it was the service that was probably good for others in there but not for me. First, I noticed the waiter was really nice & bubbly with the other patrons…. I didn’t get that treatment, the vibe was definitely not favoring my presence, weird like no eye contact, etc. I ordered my food, specifically the summer rolls with fish sauce. The menu didn’t specify what was in the rolls per se, but I assumed they were pork because I came a few years ago and they were pork rolls. When the rolls came out, I told the waiter that I’m allergic shrimp and that I couldn’t eat the roll…he looked up and stared into the window giving no eye contact- he definitely was pissed. I offered to pay for it anyway because I didn’t ask if it was pork or shrimp, and asked for a box. He left saying ok, but all of their rolls on the menu are shrimp. Which the menu, again, didn’t clarify but either way I offered to pay for it …. I didn’t understand why he was annoyed. I’ll go to the other billion pho spots around that have rolls with...
