Chose to dine at this location based on the experience of family members who had a generally positive experience.
To start, this was around the slow hour for most restaurants (3-4). I expressed (in Spanish) to our server that one of our children has a dairy allergy . He didn't seem at all interested or concerned. Which, understandably, we don't expect a trophy or anything but . Offer some substitutions? When asked if we could tweak the kids menu to include food he could eat, his response was "I don't know" .
As far as the food itself, the queso was watery and lacking in flavor. My dish (Chipotle chicken) was overly seasoned (salty).. my fiance was hoping for some hot sauce to compliment her meal but we never saw the server after he took our order.
When it was time to pay, I had to go to the bar and ask for our server. After about ten minutes he appears, and when paying he informs us it's cash only.
Now, I understand due to the storm Internet service providers are currently still in recovery mode.. however there was no signage, we were not informed prior to ordering. He's looking at me like I'm the issue... So I tell him I'm going to have to run to an ATM. He asks me multiple times if I'm coming back. Even so far as going outside to my car to ask where I'm going to get the money.
Ofc I returned and paid our tab, as well as a tip. But I will not...
Read more4⭐️ Extremely good service. Attentive and friendly. The menu is quite large and borders between Tex-Mex and a slight nod towards authentic but by no means would I call it authentic Mexican. I wasn’t a fan of the salsa compared to other places in town. I prefer more cilantro and I’m simply not a fan of thin salsa. I ordered steak fajitas ( lunch). It was the standard mix of green bell peppers, onions, yellow squash, mushrooms and tomatoes. The steak was tender. The flour tortillas were a disappointment however. The ends were so dry I had to pull them off. Not homemade. You have a choice of frijoles, rice or a salad of ice burg, pico de gallo, and a smidge of sour cream & guacamole. I choose the salad & frijoles. The salad was sparsely served with pico, quac & sour cream and there certainly wasn’t enough for 3 fajitas. The frijoles were the best I’ve had however; really creamy and almost pillowy. Portion sizes weren’t anything exceptional and smaller than other places. Their tea is screaming for help. Maybe Mi Pueblo across the street could teach them the secret to great iced tea because they surely know. The restaurant was very clean & overall the service...
Read moreI am a regular almost weekly customer of theirs, for about 3 years. We love this place and I will gladly change this to a 5 star review if they listen to me.
Issues started the last 2 times we got food from there, both in about the last 3 weeks. One time my El Patron Carnitas were more fatty and with less solid chunks. And both times, they have ruined their 2 best salsas in my opinion (habanero and house), by watering them down a lot. Their house salsa used to be chunky with a good amount of onions and tomatoes, now it is a lot thinner with very few onions and no tomatoes. The habanero salsa is a lot thinner. And they suddenly have the nerve to start charging $1.50 for each medium container of sauce. Dumb down like crazy the quality of the salsas and start charging for it at the same time??!! This place is going downhill fast, and it is very sad because they are soo good otherwise, especially before our last 2 times (so before about the last 3 weeks).
To the management and owner, bring back the quality of those salsas and/or lower the price to 75 cents per...
