We dined here on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant had every table full but one! Starting off the ambiance was nice. The decor could be more modern but not that big of a deal. Unfortunately they didn’t have their liquor/beer and wine license yet but you can always bring your own from home! We started out with the spinach and artichoke dip which was very flavorful. It had just the right amount of spinach and artichokes. We did however have to order more baguettes to finish it off but I didn’t mind because it was so good! After that we had the soup of the day which was lentils with vegetables (I forgot how our server explained it). The flavor was outstanding. It was a small cup which was perfect portion size for a second course. Then came the entrees, I had the ahi tuna burger (without the bun) and a side of ginger rice and he had the chicken piccata. I was skeptical of the seared tuna on a bun but honestly I can see why the chef put it in the menu! It was something I’ve never tried before and I’m glad I did. I’ll have to get it on the bun next time. The slaw was a bit spicy and the cucumber salad was the perfect pairing to tone it down! The chicken piccata was delicious. To top it off we had the triple cheese cake and red wine poached pairs and they were phenomenal. The cheesecake was homemade and the pairs were beautiful and tasted heavenly. Our server was very attentive and paced our courses perfectly! We will definitely be back to try more things...
Read moreI booked a table in advance for my husbands birthday and everything was super disappointing! We were so excited to finally try this place because the menu is very intriguing, but that’s all this place is, intrigue.
We ordered the scallops appetizer and for the price and receiving 3 small scallops it was very unimpressive, but was probably the best thing from our entire meal.
My husband was recommended the elk chop and he asked multiple times if it was tough and the response was no they are farm raised elk blah blah blah. He requested it to be cooked medium but it came out raw and very tough after an extremely long wait for the main course. I seriously would like to know what took so long when the food wasn’t even cooked to temp. We didnt bother sending it back when really we should have because it was atrocious and expensive.
I ordered the short rib tomahawk that comes with mashed potatoes and gravy. Well the short rib was cooked well but that’s all that was good about this dish. The gravy was not on the mashed potatoes as I think any person would believe. It was a strange sweet gravy on the tomahawk and it did not pair well.
The service was okay when we first arrived but then the attention we received was minimal at best. Spent a lot of money for my husbands birthday dinner for poor service and pretentious food that...
Read moreWent here for my birthday dinner tonight and truly loved it...great atmosphere, great service and amazing food. We started with the Herbed Goat Cheese Stuffed Peppadew Peppers as our appetizer.....they melted in our mouths. After that, we both had the Cran Orange Winter Salad....literally one of the best salads I've ever had. The chef whipped up a scratch creamy parmesan dressing for my picky husband who doesn't love vinaigrettes. My hubby had the Shrimp Alfredo, and he loved it. When he asked for parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top (Can't ever have enough cheese!), they brought him freshly shaved flakes of parmesan. I had the Moroccan Scallops with sweet potato puree, sauteed sumac spinach and a pomegranate reduction drizzle. It was topped with slivered toasted almonds and lemon zest....simply delectable! For dessert, he had the Rosemary Apricot Triple Cheese Cheesecake, and I had the Apple Crisp Pavlova....both were to die for. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Aiken so far....Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an upscale, but comfortable atmosphere....(no need for fancy dress)....and delicious offerings that you won't find in every...
