Gionino's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Akron

I have been a customer of this Gionino's for over twenty years. During that period there have been hiccups in customer service with rude staff and very late and incorrect orders that seem to resolve after a couple of weeks....bad hires I surmised. I stuck with them as the food was always great. This year the quality of the pizza decreased significantly. Sometimes the crust was raw, others burned and the cheese tasted artificial, the quantity of sauce was unpredictable. The attitude of the employees was the worst ever. I had several issues in a row; when then last pizza still hadn't arrived well after an hour, I phoned. I was told "It will get there when it gets there." They hung up on me. Of course when it arrived, I refused to accept it. The delivery guy felt awful as he had been to my home many times. I never heard from the shop. They also closed the shop for an extended period and took a vacation posting a pretty sterile note on the door notifying customers.....not too bright, when you try something new sometimes you stick with it. It is also very expensive, I've had cheaper pizza in restaurants in NY and Chicago. Try Capri in Highland Square, it is better quality and the staff...

Spent a pretty penny to serve 16 guest. Over $100.00, 112.03 to be exact. I ordered a plethora of menu items including create your own pizza, mixed chicken box, salads, and buckeye wings. The only thing that was good was the heat of the chicken. The frying oil tasted horrible old burnt disgusting. The Jojo’s were soggy and the chicken soaked in grease as if the temperatures were too low to start frying the meat. They even provided a chicken drum that was already eaten in the box. The meats taste stale like rubber on the meat pie, and the pizzas had little to no sauce. I’d like to blame it on store closing hours but this order was placed for dinner right before 6pm. No utensils and horrible rushed ordering customer service over the phone, that rushed me after each item (“anything else”)….This is my 10th time trying with this place since I’ve moved near the Valley giving the mean Lady that never provides a good experience grace to patronize local community business. Needless to say. I am not interested anymore, there are plenty more references to use...

I placed a large catering order on a Monday for Thursday. Instead of running the card on Thursday they ran it early, which is fine but made me uncomfortable, especially since no other restaurant I've ordered from has ever done that. After the order was delivered Thursday I asked why there was no tip line on thr credit card slip. I learned because of the processing fee they wouldn't add tips. I called the owner and asked what we could do as the tip was almost $100. The lady owner was insanely rude said her driver's make enough money if I didn't want to tip cash and yelled it's always been that way. (When i placed the order never was that mentioned). I was looking for a place to order lunch 2x a month for my staff but since the owner doesn't care about her employees I can not support such a selfish business. But seeing how the owner parks her G500 Mercedes in front for everyone to see, I'm not surprised to see her rude callous attitude...
