Bahama Breeze — Restaurant in Alafaya

The atmosphere and food is always great here, we were seated right away. It has always been the same at this location. My only complaint is the servers, I understand that they have a very hectic Job at times and some may get busy, but there are certain things that should be basic. Make sure your tables have proper utensils before their food arrived at their table, checking on your tables regularly. This is something lacking at least in my experience here. After being seated our server took our drink order and returned wire drinks, then took the food order and "Proof" She's gone! Our appetizers arrived by a expediter, still no utensils on the table, it was finger food so no big deal. A little while later our food arrives by expeditors once again, still no sign of our server or utensils napkins etc. And the drinks are getting low. So here we are sitting at the table with this delicious hot food sitting in front of us, but no way to eat it tactfully. The thought had crossed my mind to have me and my family dive face-first into our plates of pasta and tacos and eat like animals until somebody noticed we have no utensils, but I quickly extinguished that thought and went with plan B. Which was to wait a couple minutes to see if our server was going to bring us said utensils, and then go and see if I could find some utensils so that we could eat our food before it got cold. Now mind you expeditors that brought us our food should have noticed there were no utensils at the table as well. And several other servers and for expeditors had passed our table several times while we were waiting for utensils. So with a little despair I got up and went to find someone to bring us some utensils to eat our food with. As I open the door to go inside I noticed my server coming out with the drink order for another table, so I asked her to please bring us some utensils table and she said yes, so I went and sat down and waited for her arrival, about a minute later here she is with our utensils and we began to eat our delicious food. She must have noticed the drinks were low when she brought us the utensils, and she brought us refills and asking how the food was and then again proof! We finished our entrees and enjoyed the live music on the patio, and contemplated desert, once again no sign of our server to bring us dessert menus, And I remembered a little kioski thing on our table I ordered dessert on there and pay my check, which I never got because I had not seen the server again until she brought us the desert. Overall I think she came to our table total of three maybe four times between the drink order and the desert, (approx. An hour) I am not trying to pick on this particular server, because it is been my past experience that the servers either have too many tables or not receiving the proper training. The atmosphere and the food everything was great! And even though it's a minor annoyance I feel it needs to be addressed. And by all means encourage you to go by and get some great food and soak up the music on the patio. And get some coconut shrimp tacos or the jerk...

A group of our favorite chamber members & Friends arrived to this welcoming location on Alafaya Trail. Even though it was a lunch combo, the Coconut Shrimp Taco with side salad was more than ample. The shrimp was cooked to crispy perfection with a touch of sweetness from the pineapple chutney, tomato salsa, Sriracha aioli & shredded cabbage.

The Cabana Crunch Chicken Salad was a tangy combo of jerk chicken tossed with a pineapple, tomato, shaved coconut, almonds and topped with a drizzle of honey chipotle dressing. It was delicious & a refreshing treat on a hot summer day.

The steak lover in our group was thrilled with the Island Grille Steak Salad. The chimichurri topped skirt steak melted in your mouth. It was a flavorful juicy blend that had you wanting more. The fresh avocado, egg, smoked bacon and light drizzle of avocado ranch was a great addition making this meal complete.

For a real treat we tried the new menu item, Crispy Chicken and Johnny Cakes. This is a brunch time favorite and an Island version of Chicken & Waffles. Housemade Johnny Cakes are a little savory with a touch of sweet. Dip a helping in the delicious habanero maple syrup for a little kick. Cinnamon sweet potatoes and pickled veggies enhance the crispy goodness of the chicken breasts. Come hungry or bring a friend for this amazing meal selection.

Top off your meal with a delightful dessert that will fire you up. It's the NEW Flaming Pineapple Butter Cake. Bahama Breezes housemade butter cake, topped with fresh pineapple, salted rum caramel, table side rum flambés and a healthy scoop of vanilla ice cream. OMG! This dessert is amazing.

I came here on a saturday night with some friends and it almost empty. We ordered beef empanadas as an appetizer and never got them. Our waitress comes back to take our order & apologizes about the appetizers and says she’ll put it in (she never did). We could barely hear her and when my boyfriend asked her to repeat herself nicely she closed her eyes took a deep breath and smiled at him and told him again, found that a bit weird. Two of us ordered the honey butter sandwich and the others ordered pasta. We got our drinks before she started taking our order but we waited almost 40 minutes for our food it was just 4 of us. I think one of the chef or bussers comes out with our food and we ask him abt the appetizers. He apologizes and goes back to the kitchen with our food! We were starving and had to wait again so we asked the host and she goes to tell him to bring our food back. Mind you our waitress wasn’t around but she comes with the guy and apologizes about the appetizers again. I was so exited about the sandwich! I looked at it and when i tell you the sandwich didn’t look like it did on the menu it didn’t. It was burnt inside and out and one of my friends cut opens my sandwich half open, I couldn’t believe it!! There was no chicken inside it was just straight up burnt breadcrumbs and on top of that the fries were cold. There was nothing wrong with the pasta but also the other sandwich my friends cut opens ordered was burnt and had the most thinnest slice of chicken inside!!! We told the hostess if we could just walk out, we showed her the sandwich and her reaction was the same as ours lol. we were very...
