The look and the feel of the place is nice. At 1st glance of the menu i assumed the food was going to be great because the options where limited. First problem i had was with the waitress. I asked her if the pomegranate cocktail was sweet. She responded with a yes and just as I was about to ask her another question she said she'd give us more time to look and walked away. When she came back, instead of harassing her with questions i figured she was busy and just ordered the pomegranate cocktal. It was NOT sweet. It was like drinking salt.

She then takes our food order. I asked for a burger well done with no onions. Of course it reaches the table and has onions on it. I don't like making a fuss over little things so i just scraped them out of my cheese and put the burger together. I proceed to cut it in half and it is pretty pink in the middle. I tough it out and take 2 bites and can tell the meat was burnt on the outside.

My boyfriend even said his gumbo tasted like rice and shrimp in tomato soup

Our waitress never came back to check on us. Instead a waiter comes to see if we need anything. Thankfully he was nice enough to check with the manager to take the burger off the bill and he did. I admit that was very nice however we still payed 33$ for one dish, a gingerbrew (nonalcoholisc), and a small cocktail that was in a whiskey glass size(10$).

I will never order a drink nor food from this place again. It is just hyped up because they sell you tickets movie tickets inside the restaurant or serve you if you order then go to your movie. However there are so many stipulations to them actually surving you... You want to go to a place where they serve you at your seat then go to Alamo brewhouse theaters in San Francisco. Way better system. And they'll deliver to all the seats not just the seata in the 1st 2...

Well we decided to finally stay a little later in the area to finally catch a live band. We both work in the area but live in Walnut Creek. We arrived around 6:30 to secure a spot close to the stage. The band was still doing sound check and we noticed out HOT it was inside. There is no AC but the other side where the cinema is, is much cooler. Even with the doors open, it was stuffy and when you stepped out it was cooler outside.

It was just shy of 7pm when the group went near the restroom and didn't see them again. I was already tired and with no cool air blowing for the customers, I asked my guy "when is the band going to play". We thought ooh their in the john or grabbing a beer. Now when I needed to go to the restroom, I had glanced and the 3 were eating/drinking on the patio enjoying the nice cool fall breeze. I went back and told my guy and he said ooh give them a few minutes. Well a few minutes pass that we ended up leaving at 7:42. Truly disappointed and atleast make an announcement. Above the stage, it says live band from 7pm to 9:30pm. Maybe we came...

My husband and I ordered two drinks from the Theatre Cinema Grill yesterday. The cost was $30 with a $5 tip. Our drinks were watered down and were terrible. We paid a lot for the water and received hardly any alcohol! We were there to watch the the latest Star Trek movie that started at 5:10 pm. I had ordered the drinks long before the movie had started however, they did not show up to our theatre seats for 25 minutes after the movie had started. The ice was completely melted in our drinks. They came in these small thin and flimsy plastic cups.

It was surprising due to the fact that the theatre was not crowded. We could not complain. We did not want to miss any portion of the movie. It was very aggravating and disappointing to say the least. We left the theatre upset knowing that we spent over $50 on concessions that day that included one hot dog, a large bag of popcorn, Bunch of Crunch and Junior Mints and of course our lousy lousy drinks that reflected the Cinema Grill's lack of care and respect for its paying customers.

Mr.and...

The pros: - There was a talented band playing. - My partner's Chicken Buddha Bowl was great. The not-so-good: - Service was SLOW all around. There must have been a staffing issue, as there were tons of empty tables, but it took 15 minutes to get seated even though no one else was waiting. It took a crazy long time to order and receive food. - No one checked on us after our food was delivered, and we couldn't seem to get anyone's attention to order drinks or get water refills. - When ordering, I asked if the steak salad had onions. Our server said "if it's not listed on the description, no." Well, onions were not listed as an ingredient on the menu description, but the salad arrived with tons of diced red onions. The steak was cold and overcooked. Worst of all, the whole dish had an odd fish flavor to it that was extremely off-putting. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Looking for a local casual place to eat close to home one evening, my fiancee and I planned to go to Pappo's but felt it too formal for the occasion. We then checked out several smaller establishments nearby but none satisfied us until we looked across the street. Alameda Cinema Grill caught our attention. So that's where we headed. We were greeted graciously and seated quickly. We both ordered Grilled steak, Gorgonzola and Pear Salads with Shrimp added. COMPLETELY DELICIOUS!! The salad greens we're fresh and bouncy, the vinegrette light and flavorful and the thinly sliced steak almost fork tender. It was truly a meal in and of itself. BTW, although I can't recall the cocktails we ordered, I do recall how much I appreciated the Bartender's generosity, wink wink 😉

During my exploration of Alameda Restaurant Week, I found myself at Toomie's Thai By Thai Golden Rice capturing their signature dishes. I was genuinely impressed by how surprising and really good everything was. There's a lot of variety in the sides they offer, which adds depth to the meal. Having just returned from Thailand, I found it wasn't that big of a jump in terms of authenticity and flavor. The entire experience was memory-evoking - bringing back the tastes and sensations of my travels. It's perfect for takeout with a super bustling takeout operation that seems to run like clockwork. The chef, who's from Southern Thailand, has been running this place for 15 years, and that experience and regional expertise really shows in the food.
