HELLO EVERYONE! THIS IS EL READER!

I need to be honest—this was my FIRST time ever visiting this place, despite many people recommending it. One of the reasons I hadn’t gone until today was primarily because of the times they’re open as well as the location, which has very limited parking. (WE NEED TO BE A CYCLING AND WALKING CIVILIZATION!)

I went all out—possibly the most I have ever spent at a sandwich shop. I ordered the lamb sandwich (because I wanted to feel a bit bougie), the smoked turkey sandwich, spaghetti (ordered ahead), three meatballs, their tiramisu (OMG! SO GOOD!), their artichoke pasta salad, two bags of chips, and this little chocolate dessert that came in a box from Italy (I hope tariffs don’t make it more expensive—it’s so good).

The lamb sandwich was absolutely delicious. My eyes rolled so far back that I swear I saw my a$$ (Need to hit the gym). The spaghetti—well, let me tell you—I am not Italian, but I feel like if I had an Italian grandmother, I could taste her love in it.

The folks working behind the counter are wonderful people. They work hard and don’t have time to waste, so you better know what you’re ordering by the time they get to you—or better yet, just order ahead. I have never wanted to try every sandwich from any sandwich shop before, but this place might just add me to the growing homeless population in the Bay Area.

If you have a chance to come to Alameda, make sure you stop by. Be warned—it does get busy, and like I said, parking is limited. I chose to visit after the lunch rush and ordered ahead.

I just want to thank the wonderful people at Dominico’s for their excellent service and for letting me taste the passion, love, and pride in the beautifully crafted sandwiches and food they prepare.

10/10—will definitely go broke eating here again and...

Domenico’s is one of those places you walk into once and immediately know you’ll be back. It’s a cozy little mom-and-pop Italian sandwich shop that feels like home the second you step inside. The owners are super friendly, always ready with a smile and a genuine “How ya doin’?” It’s the kind of spot where they remember your name, your usual order, and probably what you had last time too.

The sandwiches? Absolutely killer. Whether you're grabbing a classic Italian combo stacked with prosciutto, salami, and sharp provolone or diving into one of their warm, saucy meatball subs, every bite is packed with flavor. The bread is always fresh, the ingredients are top quality, and you can tell everything’s made with care. They don’t cut corners here—just thick slices of goodness and old-school flavor.

What really sets Domenico’s apart, though, is the vibe. It’s not just about great food (though there's plenty of that)—it’s about the people, the stories, and the feeling that you're part of something special. It’s the kind of place you tell your friends about, but secretly hope stays just enough under the radar. If you haven’t been yet, go. You’re seriously...

FINALLY THEY ACCEPT CARD PAYMENTS!!! I've been a patron for over 30 years thanks to my Moms near addiction to their shredded turkey sandwiches... Tho I think she might be the only one who still orders it shredded! Order a 'Vicky' and they'll know exactly how to make it, sweet roll, shredded turkey, cheddar, no onions, no extras! Personally, I'm all about the baked turkey! This is not your standard cookie cutter sandwich shop, this is a full on authenticate, family owned delicatessen. They make their own pasta and mac salad, antipasta, and more. The meats and cheeses available are good quality, and they have an amazing selection of chips, treats and unique small batch drinks (incl beer and wine) to wet your whistle.

Everytime I treat myself to their tasty delights, I am flooded with childhood memories of being home sick from school and my Mom coming home for lunch, sharing her sandwich with me while we watched Perry Mason on channel 20. While she is retired now, and channel 20 changed their noon hour show years ago, we can still bond while enjoying our favorite Dominico's...

I love sandwiches! Great meat, fresh breads , variety of drinks ….. and of course something for the sweet tooth😍 Finding a replacement for Genova’s of Oakland has been a decade plus challenge for me … until I discovered Domenico’s in Alameda! I pay attention to the staff’s unspoken language and if the owner is present I watch them too! Well I always say staff reflects leadership… pleased to learn both are great people. ‼️Mrs Domenico and son really set the standard. I’m terrible with names( he told me his and his mother’s name) so I don’t want to mention but if you go there you’ll know immediately who I’m speaking about . ‼️ I’m all about legacy and family tradition, this is a third generation establishment which holds the same love & respect to the craft and people. It’s in the service. Thank you for serving great quality food!

When driving up the street you can easily pass by this spot and you will b sad that ya did. Another one of those mom and pop hole in the walls that we love to make a home out of. Kind greeting and fast service, you can feel the family vibe as soon as you enter the door. I got the crab salad on a soft roll with everything except pepperoncinis. The crab salad taste fresh and I like the slight crunch from the celery. The only thing I will do different and it was my fault not to have asked that the sandwich be heated. Wasn’t needed just a preference of mine. Over all Domenicos is a hidden gem that you must visit in alameda.

The guys at Domenico's know when I step in and tell them I'll have my usual, which is the vegetarian sandwich on marbled rye. That sandwich is my go to. It is freshly prepared and alfalfa sprouts is the main thing I enjoy. All sandwiches are freshly prepared and I can imagine they are delicious. One day I will switch up and order an Italian sandwich on sourdough roll. Also they have salads, large selection of potato chips and an excellent tiramisu for dessert. Ambience is casual and comfy. They're open from 11 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sunday.
