Dragon Village — Restaurant in Alameda

So bummed! Not vegetarian friendly at all! I cannot eat meat, chicken broth, etc. I have a reaction to an amino acid in meats so I ordered the vegetable chow mein to go and asked the lady taking our order to ensure it was meatless.

What did I get, chow mein noodles with broccoli and nothing else. I called the restaurant thinking they were about to give my "vegetable" chow mein to an unsuspecting customer who had ordered "broccoli only" chow mein to spare them of a wrong order as well. The restaurant assured me, that their vegetable chow mein only contains broccoli (so why not call it broccoli chow mein?).

It is late, I am, hungry and decide to just eat. It is super salty, and then about three minutes into eating, I taste it, meat. I start looking and the bottom of the container, it is full of meat. My son, the meat eater, orders the deluxe chow mein, which has way more vegetables than the "vegetable" chow mein, but he said it was so salty he could barely eat it.

So, we ate our egg rolls and tossed the rest and went to bed. Horrible food and customer service!

And the menu does not state anywhere that they do not use MSG. I used to like this place, maybe it changed hands to an owner who doesn't care, but after tonight it is my mission to spread the word not to eat there if you are health conscience and /...

Their food was not that good anymore since the new owner or management took over. The good thing is that they're still busy. But only one person was working on the floor at that time. He was helping customers that are walking in, answering the phone taking orders and there are times he's not able to answer the phone because he was checking all the orders that are ready to go. Also, customers are walking out and not able to wait to be serve. He sure needs help badly. At least three people should be working from the floor and able to take care their customers properly. Don't think I'm coming...

they use clear top containers to show u what ur getting and how much u get- perfect idea!! The food beats any we ever tasted and have ordered from most all places! An American likes to see what they are getting and the quantity and quality are outstanding!! Places like the dragon village deserve you to give them a try as they prove and earn the effort they put in to the cooking and packaging as no one beats them!! Thank you Dragon Village for proving that you can have it all without having to pay so much! Please give them a try and im sure they wont...
