So I was there with a friend having food and another couple sat behind us they only came in for tea and was treated very bad because they was buying food that was asked to take there tea to go and if that wasn’t humiliating enough, when they tried to pay their bill, the worker made it seem as if they couldn’t afford it and said don’t worry you don’t have to pay. I watch the whole situation and hurt the whole conversation and to me it felt more like they were being stereotyped, which they were dressed very well. They didn’t give you any type of idea of that. They were not fortunate enough to come in there. It was just a cold day and they wanted some hot tea and the restaurant wasn’t Full so I didn’t see why they couldn’t order their hot tea and drink it in there, but instead they were asked to leave because they were getting ready for a rush and they would need the tables but they only ask this particular couple that were African-American and so was myself being African-American? I probably would never go there anymore because that was very discouraging. That was my first time going and most definitely gonna be my last the food was OK. I was treated there so it wasn’t like it would be something that I would probably ever go back down there and eat, but I think people should know. About...

I definitely won’t recommend this place: food& service are at the lowest rate. I felt so terrible after eating there or a better description would be “trying to eat”. They don’t care about the customers, atmosphere, food quality. They will never ask you, if you are enjoying your food/satisfied. Even if they’ll see you didn’t touch most of this. The portions are huge. It looks like a plate for a giant or a pig. We ordered 2 different soups, they tasted really weird. Moreover, one plate was broken. We couldn’t eat it. I honestly delivered this information to a waiter, but he didn’t care much, of course. Then I ordered Chow fun with combined seafood: I found only 1 shrimp, a few pieces of some cheap fish+1 piece of octopus (or whatever it was). My husband ordered Mongolian beef with Chow Mein, he didn’t like it as well. We paid almost 60$ for 3 people. I’m a picky eater, I read the reviews very carefully. This was not my choice, in the first place, but our friend’s “pushy” suggestion, that’s why I didn’t hesitate much. My biggest mistake of the day. I felt disappointed, “heavy”, even though I didn’t eat most of this food. And this place visually looks so unpleasant. ...

Great food - every dish was good. Great service. Good size portions.

We had a family lunch yesterday: West Lake Beef Soup, Salt & Pepper Squid (crispy, good flavor, a bit chewy), Fried Chicken Wings (Disappeared too fast to get a photo, Mom complained she only got one!), Mongolian Beef (tender, good flavor), Honey Walnut Prawns (good, Mom's favorite), Egg Plant w/Garlic Sauce (good, a bit on sweet side), Salty Fish Chicken Fried Rice (good strong salty fish flavor), and Hong Kong Pan Fried Crispy Noodles - Bok Choy Chicken.

I've done takeout from here several times, but this was the first time for sit-down meal. The service was friendly and attentive.

8/27/2023 update: This place is still great. Since my first review, we've gone in for 2 more large family lunches (12-20 people) and 3 smaller (~4 people) dinners. Food is excellent and service is still friendly and attentive. Today we had: -Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings (椒鹽雞中翼) - no photo -Honey Walnut Prawn (合桃大) - repeat -Salty Fish Chicken Fried Rice (鹹魚雞粒炒飯) - repeat -Bitter Melon Stir-fried w/Beef (涼瓜炒 w/牛肉) - new -Sweet Sour...

I made reservations at the Hong Kong Garden Restaurant 3 weeks out because they're hard to get due to it's exclusively. Everything was lined up perfectly, Who Bang Lee Lee was looking particularly great in her traditional Chinese evening dress and had mentioned more than once about happy endings. The Uber driver was right on time and took us directly to the Hong Kong City Restaurant...What I said "Hong Kong City Restaurant...supposed to be Hong Kong Garden" the Uber driver said...Same thing, have a good dinner, and drove off. Well, the Hong Kong City Restaurant was still pretty good, and 200 bucks less expensive. 5 stars. ☆☆☆☆☆
