Despite my previous fondness for the restaurant, I encountered several issues during my recent visits, including delayed service, cleanliness concerns, and a lack of attentiveness from the staff, which ultimately led me to reconsider my patronage.

I feel compelled to share my recent experience at this establishment, which sadly did not meet the standards I once associated with it.

This place used to be great! As time passed and new staff arrived, the food's flavor and quality deteriorated along with the customer service. I was charged a gratuity on two different occasions for a group of three adults and two children (under two). I didn't realize the charge until I got home. I called both times - the first occasion, they apologized, the second, they apologized but the manager wasn't present so I was asked to call back which I didn't bother doing. During my most recent visit, I requested a high chair when we were seated. Ten minutes went by.. still no high chair, so I got up and asked if I could get it myself. We're about 20 minutes in now, we haven't received any water as of yet. The waitress finally came to take our order, we asked for water (even though it's provided when customers are seated). Please take into account that it's not busy. Ten more minutes without water.. I had to wave down the waitress, who apologized, then a young girl, no more than 8 years old, gave us cups and water. There was lipstick on one of the cups. Horrible! As our dinner was being served, I informed the server and all he did was laugh and returned with another. Additionally, during our meal, no one came over to see how...

I usually abide by the principle of if there’s nothing nice to say, don’t say it, but I’ve had more than one bad experience with the restaurant. Primarily with ordering food online through their website and picking it up.

There was one time when I ordered, went to the restaurant to pick it up, and was informed my order was not ready by the quoted time. I ordered a chicken noodle soup, but it was not made because the order apparently did not go through or they did not receive a notification.

The second time was for a Pad See Ew. One item and I waited nearly an hour. I went to the restaurant by the estimated waiting time, then was told it would take another 10 minutes. 10 minutes ended up being 25. In fact, from what I saw, the restaurant was not too busy, some empty tables.

I understand that restaurants are facing staffing shortages, multiple customers are being served, etc. The restaurant is doing their best, but as a customer, I would appreciate more transparency.

That on top of the food not being the best makes me compelled to give this place low ratings… it’s on the blander side. The items Ive tried, the chicken noodle soup, larb, stir fry noodles don’t have as many complex spices and flavors Ive preferred as I’ve had in Thailand.

I primarily come because of convenience and if I need my fix for Thai food, but the negative experiences I’ve had probably will deter me from...

I have been a regular customer of Monkey Thai for 8 years, but my recent visit was incredibly disappointing. When my family and I arrived, we were seated promptly, but were given only water, while the two white ladies who arrived after us received both water and menus. The waitress came to take their order. We waited over 10 minutes without anyone bringing us menus or checking on us. We were discussing that if we were whites then we would receive a different treatment.

I had to get up to the bar counter and ask another waitress for menus. When I said to her "Excuse me?" and she responded rudely with a blunt "What?" When we finally received our food, it was clear that the presentation and quality had declined significantly from what we were used to. It seemed like no effort was put into the dishes.

The final straw was the rude service when I waved another waitress for attention. The waitress, who seemed annoyed, approached us and responded with an irritated "What?". This level of customer service was shocking and unacceptable.

After tipping $20, we were treated differently. The staff only pretended to care as we were leaving. My family has decided we will never return to this restaurant again. The service and food quality have deteriorated drastically, making this an unpleasant...

I wanted to try a new Thai place and since I was around the area doing some grocery shopping this place seemed like a good fit. I was super excited when I looked st the menu to see a couple dishes that I haven't had before. I decided to order the silkworms as an appetizer because I haven't tried them, I have had crickets before so I figured it would be similar. They had a really interesting sauce on them that made the flavor really pleasant, but they were a little gritty on the inside so the texture was a little weird. I will say that when I microwaved them at home they got crunchy so that was some extra fun, Aldo a couple decided to combust or explode so it was definitely exciting. The other dish I got was ground meat and pork blood soup. It tasted so good, but it also had a spicy kick. This made me cough a little and half choke during parts of the meal so I got a little red faced. I did manage to survive, but another part of me got to suffer the next day. Overall I had a great experience here and the portions were huge. I'll definitely go back again to try and get my spice tolerance up more.

Outstanding Thai food served in a colorful, friendly setting on the quiet side of Southshore shopping center. Parking is a breeze for families with kids. Service is fast, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food itself is amazing on every level. Fresh ingredients, with healthy options for all diets. I ordered the seafood noodle soup with spicy Thai sausage and fish cakes as my appetizer. The family ordered chicken wings and papaya salad with sides of rice for everyone, and strawberry creme sodas for my older boy and me. What a feast! Cost to feed the entire family was $130 and change, including a fairly extravagant dessert for mom's birthday. We highly recommend Monkey Thai for families who enjoy fine dining once in awhile but don't want to spend excessively. 5 stars across the board. We will definitely be coming back!

We tried the chicken satay and the drunken noodles with chicken. Chicken satay was well seasoning, came with 5 skewers, the drunken noodle has that extra spiciness - which I love - the kick. Thai ice tea was delicious and rich. I loved that they have outdoor sitting and allow me to dine with my dog, they got her a bowl of water too, great service. Unlike the Italian restaurant nearby that have outside sitting but don't allow dog - that's fine, they don't need dog's parents business, we take our business elsewhere. I love the location of this Thai restaurant, it a short walk to the beach, so next time we will spend a beach day and can either order to go (can you imagine yummy Thai food on the beach?) or stop by after the beach day and have a great early dinner - already plan the next visit :)
