2 friends 29 reviews 1.0 star rating 8/22/2017 My partner and I ate here a few months ago when we were in the area to visit the sand dunes. I was very excited to have such a well-reviewed Thai place in this small town, but I was very let down.
We called in an order for Pad Thai and Chicken Fried Rice; when we went to pick it up, the man at the front desk couldn't have been less interested in working there. He was unfriendly, unsmiling, and seemingly ungrateful for our business. He rang us up with barely a word, and we left without a good-bye or thank you.
When we got back to the hotel to eat, I can't even describe my disappointment. Both dishes smelled and tasted overwhelmingly of fish sauce, to the point that I questioned whether the chicken was edible. I ate as much as I could, but the flavor was so pervasive and sickening I couldn't finish. Needless to say, I was starving for breakfast the next morning. I would never recommend this place to anyone, regardless of the other...
Read moreMy sweetie and I got the steak teriyaki and green curry, to go on our way back to New Mexico. We sat inside to wait for our food and the place was cute and humble and the server was very kind. The steak teriyaki was cooked well but not a quality source of meat and not seasoned at all. It had a sprinkle of sesame seeds on top of it and tasted like it was steamed or microwaved. It sat atop broccoli and carrots that were soaked in a watered down teriyaki sauce. The steak was large in size but barely fit in the carryout box which led to a spill upon opening. The green curry was better than the steak teriyaki but still less than average. It was not creamy like most curries I have had in the past and had an aftertaste of overchlorinated water. We were super excited to stop here on our way home from the airport and while it didnt ruin our day, we were...
Read moreThai Hut offers a variety of Thai and Japanese dishes. During my visit, we ordered a vegan rolls which tasted as expected and a couple of Thai dishes that I have to say were one of my least favorite versions I've had.
Massaman curry felt like it was curry powder thrown together with corn starch to thicken it up. The dish claimed to have coconut milk but definitely could've used significantly more if it did. I'd skip this dish if you're expecting to get something remotely similar to what you find elsewhere.
Pad kee mao was another dish we offered and the noodles were pretty tough.
If you didn't know what these dishes were supposed to taste like you'd probably enjoy them but if you're looking for authentic versions of these two, look elsewhere
Other people in my party enjoyed their food but I didn't try them. Overall,...
