I've had a really bad couple years. Takoyaki is my most favorite food in the world but I could never find it within AK, the last time I had any was in Seattle before the pandemic (I live in Homer). When I ate the takoyaki here I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried. It was perfect - soft Osakan style; the kind you eat in one bite. The flavor and texture was melt-in-your-mouth heavenly, toppings authentic and perfectly complimenting in texture, octopus cooked perfectly. I was a bit sad that it was closer to 10$ than the 7$ it's listed as online but after biting into it, I honestly I would've paid 30$+ for that. An older staff member noticed I looked uncomfortable while waiting (I deal with chronic pain, this was not at all at fault of the restaurant in any way) and asked if he could help unprompted. I really hope this place stays in business, I will go here every time I am in the city from now on. Thank you for bringing me back very pleasant memories that are precious to me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food is good but not the best. The service was really great! And the atmosphere is welcoming but there is a slight damp aroma inside. The menu is huge and I would highly recommend the sweet and drinks menu, the drinks are really good! The musubi was one of the best Iāve had from a restaurant, the rice is seasoned and the spam was cooked perfect. The ube milk and calimansa slushie were refreshing and left us wanting more. The mochiko chicken is sweet and delicious but the pancit had a bit of a sour taste to me. The Kalbi was a bit over cooked and the Huli Huli chicken was not very good. I would come back though, thereās so much I would still like to try š the prices...

My daughter always compares lumpia to my mom's friend's recipe and she said the lumpia was "better than Lhing's" which she has never said before! That's high praise. We also got the siopao which was perfectly fluffy, filled with a savory and saucy pork filling. The Hawaiian food was great too! The rice was fluffy. I felt the mac was okay. Less onion more seasoning wouldn't hurt. Your normal tempura shrimp. Well fried and seasoned gyoza. Sweet sesame ball with bean paste. The Huli huli chicken was really great. Juicy, well seasoned, and fried to...
