Fresh Bowl Kitchen — Restaurant in Alaska

I'm a little hesitant to give such a low score, because the food tastes fine and they have healthy options, but I'm pretty disturbed by my experience today.

I came in for a pick up order and while waiting, I saw a person prepping a sandwich without any gloves. I asked if that was normal practice and they assured me they wash their hands and they feel like it lowers the chance of cross contamination than gloves, but they hadn't washed their hands until I mentioned something and I watched them handling different sections and touching different appliances. I'm no health inspector and there doesn't seem to be any laws requiring gloves, but it was very unsettling to me. Also the hand washing I saw looked to be more like a rinse.

I decided to brush it off since probably a lot of kitchens don't use gloves and we just can't see them. But then I took a bite of my soup and immediately felt something hard in my mouth. Pulled out of piece of plastic and lost my appetite.

Again, I've eaten here before and thought the food was fine, but now I've loss some trust and won't be eating my $25 order for a small salad and...

I recently tried this place out last and im a little skeptical..I initially thought the menu looked basic but the food is very fresh and quality and you don’t have to have a big fancy menu to have good food.

The quality of the food is definitely on point but they are a little pricey for what you get but obviously that's not a deal breaker....All of there Bowls are (ok), costumer service is hit and miss and they definitely charge more than what you pay for....I have no problem paying what I pay for if it's fair but I've already called and complained twice regarding paying 6$ for 3 to 4 pieces of tiny...

The staff was fantastic- super friendly and gave a warm greeting. The veggies for the salad bowl were fresh and crisp, and overall it was a really good experience. I was disappointed that they did not have a vegetarian/vegan option for protein- you could pay $1.50 for the bean salsa or get edamame as one of the three toppings included on the price. There was also maybe one dressing that was dairy free. So, for a salad spot I was a little disappointed at the lack of flexibility/availability to get a well rounded salad as a vegan. I know this is a new place, and hope this place branches out a bit...
