I took the weekend to decide if I really wanted to write this review or not- Obviously, I have decided I feel like it is for the best to share my experience with others. I had gotten Silk at the beginning of the pandemic and things were fantastic! I had not gone back due to it being a higher priced place, while on a strict budget, I just was not able to fit it in. This last Friday I decided to spoil the family a little, so we ordered Silk. When I arrived to pick up my order the girl in the front was nice enough, asked me to wait for the other individual to ring me up while she grabbed my bags. Initially I had been charged for an extra roll, I believe the calculator was not cleared out from an earlier order. Once I realized I went back in and let them know, they quickly resolved the issue and issued a refund. He was very apologetic- things happen! Not a big deal at all, I appreciated the quick resolution. When we get home and open our boxes our hearts dropped. The sashimi we ordered was the thinnest we have ever seen, it looked as if it had been quite literally shaved off the fish, it was see-through, one of the pieces had an actual hole in it from being so thinly shaved. The menu states the sashimi comes with a salad, however when we opened the box we saw the sashimi thrown into what appeared to be garnish- nothing about that looked like a salad. The rolls were mediocre at best. It seems that this restaurant has been severely hurt by the pandemic as many have, which is very unfortunate, however cutting corners like this is not the way to make up for lost time. I spent close to 100 for two adults to be extremely disappointed with their meals wishing we just went to our normal sushi restaurant, which is less expensive and much better quality. I hope Silk can get back to their roots and become the great restaurant...
Read moreIt was comical how bad everything was. The place is understaffed. There were two people there; the server and the cook. I understand that the restaurant business can have really tight margins, but you are clearly doing something wrong if you have four tables with an hour wait on a sushi roll. The issue seemed to be that they had people constantly ordering for pickup/doordash, but again they only have two people working. At that point, why don’t you either close the walk-in and operate the kitchen for DoorDash or HIRE MORE PEOPLE. While I was there, a couple had left because the server forgot about them, not even giving them a menu. I had also overheard the group next to us had ordered a roll and were waiting on it and the bill, but the server had also forgot that and didn’t even write it on a ticket. Not to mention the server asking us if we want the bill while we are 30 minutes into waiting for the rolls that haven’t given us yet. Then the cook is giving the person advice on giving the people menus first thing so they have something to look at and don’t feel forgotten. This would be good advice, but it’s hard to take seriously when the food is horrible. Now, to get to the food. I ordered the dragon roll and my partner ordered the spider roll. I understand fish is fish, it will taste as such, but this tasted like it was not fresh whatsoever and like the soft shell crab was not thoroughly cooked. The worst part was my partner’s roll had the hard exterior shell of the crab in her roll . . . We didn’t finish our food out of fear of getting sick if we ate anymore, and did not ask for a box to take home. Seriously provide better training for your staff, hire more people, change how you operate overall. I will not...
Read moreThis was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I ordered gyoza appetizer and the house fried rice dinner. On their menu the house fried rice says it comes with soup and salad. However, after I get home there is no soup or salad, so I call to inquire about it. As I'm calling I open my gyoza and notice the sauce looks like plain soy sauce, so I taste it. Turns out to be plain soy sauce.
I ask about the soup and salad, and I'm told that they discontinued the salad (no big deal), and they don't give soup to the to go orders. They should tell you this either when you place your order or when you pick up your order. I also tell the woman that I received plain soy sauce for my gyoza.
The woman who answered the phone gives me the ingredients for the sauce. I don't need the ingredients. I tell the woman that who ever put my order together should pay better attention.
As soon as I'm off the phone I open my house fried rice. And what I find is absolutely disgusting. The shrimp are not cleaned. You can clearly see the dark "vein" on the shrimp. I can not eat any of the rice as it was cooked with shrimp that are full of poop.
I take the rice back to the restaurant. And although I was polite the woman was extremely rude. She claimed they do clean the shrimp and told me not to order from them again.
If the shrimp were cleaned they would have been deveined. The vein that runs along the back of the shrimp is actually the shrimps digestive track. It contains poop and sand.
The customer service at this restaurant is as disgusting as the...
