Morning Cafe — Restaurant in Albany

Over the course of a few months, I’ve been frequently ordering from this establishment. The food tastes great, the atmosphere is beautiful and comforting, however, it’s come to my attention that there’s a frequent pattern of business hygiene that isn’t practiced amongst the staff.

Although it is a food and drink focused business, the workers almost never wear bonnets or hair ties to keep their hair up, and it’s led to me finding a hair in my food. The workers were kind enough to remake my food and make sure the staff member put their hair up for that specific order, but after that their hair remained down. The fact that nothing has been done or changed to stop that from happening again is what rises my concern. It makes me question their devotion to high standards amongst their business and what exactly their customers could be consuming.

Although since then I haven’t found a hair within my food or beverage, I still frequently find hairs attached to the side of my cups or boxes.

I’m not sure how this place has 5 stars. I came here passing through from Hurricane Milton down in FLORIDA and was looking forward to some great coffee and meals. I ordered the avocado toast, which turned out to be a single slice of white wonder bread with a 2 tablespoons of avocado spread…THATS IT! I think they charged me like 5 dollars for it too! The coffee “morning (something)” was lackluster and just had a TON OF HONEY that it made it undrinkable. The host made it seem like she was just tired and did not want to be there.

The whole thing was LACKLUSTER and downright poor grade for the price. The ambiance is VERY BASIC and did not really appeal to a cozy cafe with some chairs and tables with no real experience to talk about.

Highly recommend this family owned place! The best I’ve knowing so far. Stopped by on the way back home from FL to NC and stayed very impressed! Coffee was top-notched! They use very good quality products, natural syrups and good teas. The menu was pretty big and there’re enough different options to choose from. Probably the best coffee and banana pudding I’ve ever trying so far. Grandma’s PB&J sandwich must have! Atmosphere is very relaxed and very pleasant.
