Nov 2021: (Rating = 4) Last year I wasn't impressed with this burger location. Now I have to compliment the owner and staff of this burger vendor for GREATLY improving their product quality. We have ordered from Shortstops four times between Aug - Oct of this year. EVERY time the burger and fries have been great and what we expected. The burger was cooked, assembled, and packaged with what appears to be care about quality and appearance. Fries were cooked to proper state for crispness and flavor and the amount was sufficient for what we paid for.
This might upset some readers, but compared to what we received from Hasty Freeze in Jun '21, which was a manually mashed burger to make more room in the bag and fries that were not cooked to crispness, we won't wait 30 min in line at Hasty anymore for lower quality food than Shortstop. We recommend you give SHORTSTOP a chance to earn your patronage.
What can be improved at shortstop is their shakes. Hasty Freeze still makes the best milkshakes in town!!! Sorry Dairy Queen. if shortstops would up their game on milkshakes they too would have long lines for their food. June 2020: (Rating = 1) My wife and I thought we would give Shortstops a try this last Friday. Unfortunately, the tots were not completely cooked to crispiness we were expecting. Burgers were average at best. The care in making and presenting the burger was subpar. They could have been in a rush due to dinner demand. Chocolate milkshakes were air-fluffed something. We were hoping for something more like Hasty Freeze shakes, which are the best in town. Cost for bacon burgers, tots and shakes w/tip was $32. Not the best experience for what we spent. May give them another try during a slower time of day to see if...
Read moreIn May 2025 we ordered three shakes, one hamburger basket and two cheeseburger baskets. We received our food and went home. Unfortunately, we only had meat, no fries or buns. I called and the girl at the store, who seemed quite confused, finally found our receipt and told me that we ordered lettuce boats. I explained that I did not order lettuce anything. She rudely continued to tell me that we ordered lettuce boats. I tried to talk to her about this on the phone, but she kept saying she couldn't hear me. Finally, I told her to just remake the order and told her again what we wanted. She said she didn't know if she could do that and would have to check with someone. I told her that we would just pay for it again, and she agreed. My husband drove to Short Stop and they had not made the meal. She didn't seem to know what my husband was talking about. He again ordered two cheeseburgers and fries and one hamburger and fries. He got two bacon burgers and tots and one hamburger and fries. When he questioned that, the employee rudely told him that they were just sixteen year old kids and make mistakes and slammed the window shut on him. Suffice to say, over 80 dollars for three fast food meals, none of which were what we ordered, is...
Read moreOrdered two chicken slider combo. Not impressed with the preformed chicken patties and the fact that I ordered a combo but didn't get any fries. I didn't get charged for fries either so not as critical. Their intercom has a lot to be desired. I couldn't understand her and she couldn't understand me. The entire human contact was about 10 secs. They have an opaque drive thru window so you can't see inside. Here's your food here's your change, bye!
I did enjoy the boba sized straws so that I wasn't sucking my face into my cup.
I don't think chicken is their forte so I'll be going back to sample their burger and I'll make sure they understand my order.
Edit: I did go back to try their burger and tots. The burger was substantial size and tasty. For an additional charge, I opted for the bacon and cheese.
I added an Oreo shake and it was thick! But they provide boba straws so you don't suck your face into the cup.
The tots were crispy and extra salty! The sauces were complimentary for fry sauce and BBQ sauce...
