Sugar Mama’s — Restaurant in Albany

I ordered two cakes in one week from Sugar Mama's. One for my daughter's college graduation party and one for my 50th birthday party. My daughter's graduation cake was fantastic. My cake was not what I had expected. I had ordered it with fresh raspberries on the top, and a golden 50 sign. The staff explained to me that the golden 50 had not come in, so they had bought a numeric candle to put on top, and the raspberried that I had requested be on top of the cake were out of season and not attractive. I accepted the cake as is but then thought better of it and called them. I asked them if we could do something to make it right. They were SUPER PROFESSIONAL. They allowed me to bring the cake back, they took the shriveled raspberried off of the cake and fixed the frosting. Thankfully, the golden 50 they ordered for my cake arrived while they were fixing it, so they put that on as well. I left a happy customer. That night, when we cut the cake, it tasted FANTASTIC. In business, especially the food business, things happen. Cakes are not easy to bake and decorating them with fresh produce, which can vary in appearance and quality due to weather, is difficult. This business is PROFESSIONAL and they stopped at nothing to make me a happy customer. I will use them whenever I need a cake because of that. Not to mention their cakes taste fantastic! Y’all sleeping on this bakery. There aren’t many legit bakeries in Albany. Most of the other places are always closed. About two years ago I came here and tried something that was so good-I saved them in my phone and every time I come back to Albany I stop by and they always have different desserts every time. They’re always unique, appropriate and hook you just like drugs. I literally always find something so amazing I want to tell someone to go try it. That’s how good a dessert should be. Look at that pecan pie-thick with that heavenly breading. Easily The best pecan pie I’ve ever eaten. The ooey gooey bar was insanely good. I had to put it down because I knew I wasn’t supposed to be eating that much dessert in one sitting. The lemon blueberry cake was appealing and unique. The breading and the inside layer was perfect. I’m not a fan of those colored icings and I don’t like a lot of icing so I didn’t eat much of the icing at all. I know they wouldn’t sell a cake without top icing But at my age that’s actually what I prefer. Great cake, didn’t love the icing. This is the second time that I have encountered a problem with Sugar Mama's in Albany, GA. I ordered an individual BIG Cookie by messenger on Wednesday morning to be picked up on Friday by lunch. I arrived at the Bakery at 11:30AM and the sales clerk explained she thought the order was for Saturday. I showed her the message on my phone and she pulled up the message on her phone and it did state Friday. She explained she could have one ready in about an hour. I explained I had errands to run since I was an hour from home but I would return in an approximately one hour. When I returned she gave me a small single size cookie. Again I showed her the message which stated a BIG cookie. She stated whoever took the order didn't ask how many I wanted to serve. I again showed her the capital letters "BIG" cookie. The owner was standing behind a baking rack and would not come out to apologize. So needless to say I didnt have a dessert for my son's...
