I got my life threatened and called a b!t(h by the female manager who felt like replacing a bag of ice with 3 route 44 cups of ice was doing me a favor. It’s not even close to the same amount of ice but it is the same cost, which she felt like was great customer service, along with rude gestures and calling me names.
If I could give this place zero stars I would.
From my experience of going to this Sonic, there’s one employee who understands a good attitude, what friendliness and customer service is about and that employee is William who seems to only work early mornings. The experiences in the afternoons/evenings are hit or miss, mostly misses with rudeness and complete ineptitude.
If you don’t want to take care of people in a customer service job, there are plenty of other jobs out there.
I went through the drive through, ordered a bag of ice. Got up to the window after 5 minute wait for 3 cars ahead of me and didn’t see the bag waiting but I was happy because it meant my ice wasn’t melting during the wait. That happiness turned to frustration quickly. The young woman at the register literally watched me take out my card, swipe it to pay and then she opened up the window and said they didn’t have bags for ice. I’m like well I just paid, she tried to deny that the charge went through. I opened up my banking app and was ready to show the charge only to have the rude female manager come over and also try to tell me it didn’t go through.
No one was wearing name tags which I know is against Sonic SOP. The rude manager tried to replace the bag of ice with 3 cups of ice and explained it’s the same price. I said they may be the same price but it’s not the same amount of ice and that’s the opposite of customer service. She got all annoyed I was questioning the substitution she was making and when I asked for her name because I knew this was the terrible visit I was finally going to write a review on, she shut the window in my face. I took a picture of her to forward to her manager Brian, who I finally got his name. I waited there for another 5-10 minutes until they realized I wasn’t leaving without a refund. I had no bag of ice and my card clearly showed charged in my banking app.
Before this visit I was going to this Sonic at least once a day sometimes twice a day and when I left I almost went to the Sonic on San Mateo but since they all are owned by the same owner, I decided instead to go to Chick-Fil-A. I got a free large cup of ice with the ice cream cone I ordered and they have the old small nugget ice, which is better than Sonic’s new ice machine ice anyways.
From now on I’ll pay more to get friendly and competent service at...
Read moreWhile the employees are prompt and friendly, and no problems with order accuracy, I thought the pricing was a bit high for what you received. I ordered the Hatch Green Chili Burger which price wise ($5.50) is comparable to Burger King Whopper Sandwich, and the green chili option added flavor, it was the stingy amount of condiments, lettuce, tomato, onions, was extremely disappointing! Absolutely, no comparison to what is pictured in the drive thru, and being my first time eating at a Sonic is extremely misleading. Another thing is when you pay they ask you "do you want your change?" While, I am that person that will go above, and especially in these stressful times, I will often tip in situations where tipping is not expected, I thought by it unsual to be asked to this in a drive thru. However, I wasn't bothered by it and as a matter of speaking because he repeated my order back and even though at the speaker, where I placed my order, which could use an upgrade, he asked me did I still wanted ketchup on my sandwich! I stated definitely not, no sauces of any kind. His being attentive to my request yielded him a little extra cash. If you choose to dine in the car hop spaces, I am sure I they work for tips and if you receive service and everything is ok yes tip! A big issue is the lack of clear markings to inform you exactly where the drive thru entrance is.
While the employees are professional, and friendly, that alone, would be 5 stars, however factor in the pricing for what you receive is a bit...
Read moreStopped by this location on Friday, 7/29/21 and was greeted by an employee on the microphone who proceeded to explain the rules that I would have to agree to if I wanted the privilege of ordering food. The drive thru was also closed on a Friday night. The rules were 1) this Sonic location could not accept cash, only credit card; 2) did not have STRAWS: and 3) that I could not order slushes as the equipment was broken. Not comprehending how a business whose sole purpose is to sell junk food that includes shakes and slushes could run out of straws , I took my business to Whataburger who yes, had straws. I called the following morning and spoke to Williamm who claims to be the assistant manager. William explained that, even with me and possibly others like me that took our business elsewhere, this Sonic was one of the better producing locations in Albuquerque and essentially didn`t care about losing business to a competitor. I suggested that he or the store manager might consider going to purchase straws elsewhere in order to keep customers happy, but William wouldn't have it explaining that Sonic customers would know that they were using replacement straws. Its difficult to reason with William if that...
