We had just come back from putting my wife's grandfather's ashes away and we came to this restaurant, it was about 20 of us, which they immediately took us and got tables together, but the service was not up to par. I don't think they were ready for this many people that early, I mean we spent a good amount of money for sub par food, I had ordered the Quesadilla Latina which was ok for what it was, some of us had ordered the breakfast and paid the extra for it and they took their time with it, but if it was alcohol they made sure they got that out there in time, when they delivered the food they had to do it in four different waves, so some of us had food and some of us didn't and it took them a while to get the rest of the food out.
When they brought out the Queso though they brought chips and I asked for some jalapenos, when we got the bill we got charged almost two dollars for that little bowl of jalapenos most restaurants just give me some jalapenos for queso, they were very slow when it came to giving people refills, yes I am being very nitpicky about this especially when you come in a group and the tip for this young lady was not deserving but it wasn't my call, we automatically got charged a tip on the ticket which is reasonable, but then my father-in-law wanted to give a little extra to contribute and like I said was not my call, but the service was horrible especially for what was spent there and in a large group like this, they need to have somebody there that is just for that table, it was like everybody was jumping in to help, but they were also trying to help the front so like I said maybe they weren't prepared to have a group of people come in.
Oh, and that...
Read moreI would give this place ZERO âď¸ if possible! Not only did I wake up with FOOD POISONING, but the SERVICE once again, for the 2nd time was terrible! I ordered white queso. Don't ever do that there because it apparently takes longer than 15 people's food being cooked and served. I canceled the queso after asking about it twice!..and our food already coming out. I ordered crispy chicken tacos and substituted the rice/ beans for veggies! No veggies. I had to get up and go find my waiter and ask for what I ahd already ordered. I also asked for cilantro TWICE. NEVER GOT IT. ...had to find the waiter for those requests too. Never got even one refill on my water. FINALLY my vegetables came. They were ice cold in the middle!!! WHO IS RUNNING THIS FOOD ESTABLISHMENT?!?! FIRE YOURSELF AND ALL YOUR STAFF. This is the 2nd terrible.experience I had there. I told my sister to not choose this place đ After all the screw ups they took $6 off my total cost. Are you kidding me??!! Alma Latina needs to be SHUT DOWN. After all the inconvenience and terrible food and service, I get food poisoning!! Not a fun or a functional thing to have especially as a single mother taking care of a 4 year old. If all that wasn't enough, they really made a disaster of splitting our check. And made a point to say that's why they don't split checks. Whaaaaat?! Alma Latina your food license should be stripped. Terrible place. I'll stick with Gringos and Puebloritaville!!! đ¤˘đ¤˘đ¤Žđ¤Žđ¤Ž Yall were a HUGE mistake and now I'm paying for it with feeling so sick today on...
Read moreOverall, it was an enjoyable place to eat. Fairly authentic and some really nice options. The beans have some type of flavoring in them that all of us picked up on and they did not work for anyone at the table. The beans were also very thin and slightly watery. Rice was excellent and the tostada was great. The ceviche oysters were excellent but I should have ordered only half a dozen instead of a dozen because they are rich and should definitely be treated like an appetizer to be shared around the table. Only one or maybe two English speaking people in the restaurant, which is perfectly fine with us, but just don't go without understanding that. For some people this can be frustrating but for us we loved it because it felt like a traditional experience and traditional food versus just some standard Mexican/American restaurant. Also, as one last note, when you're ordering between Mexican style and Tex-Mex style, Mexican style options the meat comes on the side and not inside the food. For instance, you get cheese enchiladas and then the grilled spicy chicken is on the plate separately, not in the enchilada. It is also not nearly a saucy when you order Mexican style as it is when you...
