Captain D's — Restaurant in Alexander City

This was the worst fast food experience I've had. Most of the food was bad, the clam strips tasted like they were supposed to, but I have to assume that was an accident. The cole slaw tasted like it was made with both rotten cabbage and rancid mayo. I got a water to drink and the fountain drink would barely drip any water out. I took off the tip on the machine to see if it had been cleaned any time recently and the white piece inside was clogged with mold. I took it to the counter and told them that those needed to be cleaned with bleach water every night. They took it to the back and a minute later put it back in the machine, after checking it I saw that the white piece had been cleaned out, but they didn't check any of the others. The water still didn't work very well, I can't imagine what the rest of the machine looks like if the part that's easiest to clean never has been... The ceiling was at least 50% black mold, while I was there I saw another large family talking about how awful and moldy the ceiling was and how they were afraid to eat their food now. I checked the other fountain machine tips before leaving, found them all to be moldy, and took them all off to take them to the front counter. The employee at the front said "he so stupid" and left, when I walked outside to my car I saw the other front employee putting them all right back in the machine. I walked back in and explained what I'd found to the other customers, I hope they decide like I have to never visit this Captain D's again.

On a side note, the health score here was a 96 and this mold didn't grow overnight, I find fast food places in Alexander City to be generally worse than the same places in Wetumpka, Montgomery, Tallassee, etc, and I imagine that them getting away with such low standards with no health score repercussions is...

I left 2 stars last year but I'm editing it & leaving 1 star. I would leave 0 stars if I could It took me 18 mins to get food, I had a fine-order & a to go order 4 my daughter, who was on lunch break from work. When it food finally came, all was dine in so we waited another 6 mins for them to put her order in a box. My order was $42 & change then I order 2 drinks which was almost$5 more. Upon leaving I asked for a cup of ice & was told that I had 2 pay for it. I asked would a drink refill be free, she answered yes but said they don't give ice for free. I left with no drink refill or ice. I stopped by Burger King & ate more food, was given free ice & only spent $6.87 there. It's really sad to spend almost $50, be still hungry & offered free diet Pepsi but no free ice. I think Burger King was a much better...

got the seafood fest through the drive-thru returned home which is 30 miles away to discover half the fish was missing and I had somebody's half eaten and salad with a fork still in it called and was told that they would replace the entire meal drove back two days later to get the entire meal to start with they were rude and they said they would only replace half the fish after another 30 mile trip and getting someone's trash i will never do business with Captain D's again strictly because of this...
