I’ve had a couple of dine-in and takeout experiences at Chili Wok already, and all of them were absolutely FANTASTIC!
I tried the Mala Beef Shank with Tofu Skin, which is not something you’d typically find at your average Chinese restaurant. The flavors were bold and authentic, and the texture of the tofu skin paired so well with the beef.
I also had the Mapo Tofu with added pork. It was spicy, savory, and deeply satisfying. The tofu was silky, and the minced pork added an extra layer of richness. Definitely a hidden gem on the menu!
The Dry Fried Cauliflower is perfectly crispy and so addictive. It’s one of those dishes that you start craving again the moment you finish it. The spice level is just right for me, but my friend who doesn’t handle spicy food well always asks for it to be made milder, and they’re happy to adjust.
The Dry Pot with Fish, which came out on a big plate loaded with flounder fish and a mix of veggies like cauliflower, lotus root, woodear mushroom, and seaweed knots!? I even asked for extra lotus root because I love that crisp bite😍!
The service has always been friendly and attentive. There’s plenty of parking spaces, either right in front of the restaurant or in the back where the entrance of the...
Read moreA four for now with hopeful upgrade potential. Key points: Lunch specials is a great value. You get a soup, spring roll, rice and protein for near $11 after tax. My only complaint is that I have ordered Kung Pao chicken and general Tso chicken and both requested extra spicy and neither had any spice at all. The chicken though was nicely cooked and good sized chunks, esp for the general tso which at some places is just breading
-Crab rangoons are perfection. OMG. They are triangles instead of the weird pretty dumplings which allows for the perfect filling to crust ratio. These will be my diet downfall
-Singapore Noodles. Outstanding. I've been looking for good singapore noodles in our hood for a while and have tried at least South China in south del rey. These were perfect. I put no notes on my order for spice level but the flavor was absolutely solidly there, good portion size, i couldn't finish it. I got chicken and shrimp. This will be my go-to spot for these noodles for the...
Read moreChili Wok offers a simple, clean dining room and bathrooms. The real story here though is the food. This restaurant is advertised as an excellent Chinese Sichuan restaurant and it does not disappoint. From the appetizers to the main dishes this restaurant serves authentic Sichuan dishes with the right spice and large portions. We had the Dry Fried Cauliflower, Spicy Fragrant Yellow Beef, Mapo Tofu, Lazy Chicken for main and the Mala Beef Shank and Tofu Skin, Dan Dan Noodles, Pan Fried Dumplings and Crispy Cilantro Flounder Rolls for appetizers and they were all amazing. Took some Singapore Noodles home and again was very pleased. I love spicy Chinese food and am married to a Chinese woman and have a Chinese daughter and we were all very impressed. Will definitely dine here again. Try it, you will not be...
